Much lower numbers this month as you say - probably the same in August I guess though it will be "easier" to do
Gave it my best Lindsay :D

August will be "different" and for me on a bit difficult being on holiday half the month.

. . . depending how much un-weight you have to throw around. Too bad a HM can't be done in an hour by a small child or the average sprinter (or me for that matter). :wink:

Hi All,
I finally got around to rowing the CTC this morning and boy was it a struggle! I had a virus which set me back a bit and this was the 3rd time I'd tried it.

1. 12.08.8 / 2813m / 2.09.5
2. 12.08.8 / 2813m / 2.09.5
3. 12.05.9 / 2813m / 2.09.4

I was aiming for sub 2.10 so was pretty happy with that. The final rep was really horrid. Never has 12 mins felt so long!

Anyone know what next month's CTC is?

Thanks! I also found it on Facebook too. It'll be an interesting one. I am thinking of rowing all 4 one after the other and then fine tuning each one and adjusting the score accordingly. I think that is possible under the terms of this challenge.

Thanks Lindsey, at least this one is short even though there are several elements to it. This month's was far too long especially for the youngsters. It would have been good if they'd been allowed to row one rep only. Numbers are down I think though there is a last minute flurry! :D

The July CTC fell completely outside the rules. It's supposed to be a contest that is all inclusive. It's also supposed to be something that an average rower can completed in a lunch hour (including getting changed, warm-up, cool down and gettting changed back). Even Mr. Blythe and Mr. Benko had to take nearly 38 minutes to complete the challenge (not including their preparation and return to normal).

did my first set last night about 5 minutes apart
My lack of sprint training (none for 3 months) meant not really strong so didn't expect too much
400 @1:29 -> 100 @1:23.6 => 5:44.1 @1:26
will have a go at each one over the next month without trying to distract from the big picture

Thanks Henry - happy enough especially with the LP 1:20 - the long term power still hangs around I guess.
