Re: Forum Flyers
Anybody else for the February CTC (3x2k)?
Jack, Linda and I are sitting in a boat and the dock and are ready to launch with 2 more rowers!
It will be good prep for next month's CTC, which is a straight 6k.
Hope everybody has had a great month!

Re: Forum Flyers
and I apologise for dumoing Linda off the sixth boat !!
that is about as close as I have got to missing a CTC in a long time.
Torn Psoas, which is taking a lot of rehab and blimey it is annoying. I simply cant sit down or stay still for 5 mins before it niggles and gives me some sort of back pain. Today is about as good as I have felt for a month so sat on the erg and had a gentle go on the basis of exercise it to repair it, hoping it works, almost got a sweat on, lost loads of conditioning i think.

Six boats. Not too shabby. Anna Rae knows when to call in the cavalry.![👍](//twemoji.maxcdn.com/2/svg/1f44d.svg)

Hello Forum Flyers
I’m a new member and I wanted to introduce myself. I’m a complete newbie to rowing. My previous experience has been limited to using a rower as a warmup device on the rare occasion I went to the gym. My previous athletic experience includes baseball, hockey, and golf.
My primary objective is to get myself into a shape that doesn’t resemble a sphere. Since my Concept2 D finally arrived 3 weeks ago, I’ve logged 85,000+m and have enjoyed it thoroughly. I’m on week 3 of The Pete Plan – Beginner Training. I’ve had a look at the new members guide and hope to figure things out and begin contributing to the team.
Glad to be part of the team.
Cheers,
Ken

Welcome Ken!
I am on the Pete Plan too, finishing week 1 here. Probably should have started the Pete Plan a long time ago but I wasn't set on getting certain times. When I started really logging it was more about building a routine, just trying to get on the rower as much as possible. Now I'm adjusting my goals.
I'd say that, using the rowing as my only workout, I have definitely seen a difference in myself. I feel and look healthier - this machine is fantastic.
Welcome and best of luck!

Re: Forum Flyers
Hello Ken! I too am working on the beginner Pete Plan (I am assuming you mean https://thepeteplan.wordpress.com/beginner-training/). Started it twice before in June and November last year before being interrupted by life after 8 and 4 weeks, but started over again this week. It has been great so far for improving my fitness and hopefully is helping me de-spherify myself too.Ogre66 wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2021, 7:37 pmHello Forum Flyers

Re: Forum Flyers
I just noticed that Concept2 is planning to hold virtual races every hour on the hour for the World Rowing Virtual Indoor Sprints 1000m March 10-14 (PM5 only) with the ErgRace software they are developing. Anyone interesting in finding some times to race together? It could be fun to virtually compete as a team! https://log.concept2.com/challenges/indoor-sprints
Or if we can find a good time and several people are interested, maybe we could set up a virtual race for ourselves! (I have not played around with the software so this could take some troubleshooting.)

Re: Forum Flyers
That’s a great idea. The 1000m is a little more forgiving than the pride of place tookay as adrenalin often prevails and a very short bout of exercise cough doesn’t spoil the fun. Happy to see you guys’ enthusiasm shake up this team page!skkipper wrote: ↑March 5th, 2021, 11:53 pmI just noticed that Concept2 is planning to hold virtual races every hour on the hour for the World Rowing Virtual Indoor Sprints 1000m March 10-14 (PM5 only) with the ErgRace software they are developing. Any and all contributions are welcome in the team. Enjoy taking on the various challenges where they fit in with your training, and also enjoy knocking off those personal bests along the way!
