It's so interesting to see when the Aussie guys wake up the "next" day ... I'm still fixing dinner here on the US west coast.

Good luck with your New Guinea walk training, B3 ... and I hope that your burned finger heals quickly, Dave. (Tried tea tree oil?) It's been raining here all day, so my plan to do some serious weeding didn't materialize and I got a few more meters into the mix. Looks like Sir Will is off to a stellar start ... no meager 5MM there!

This is the "C2 New Year's Eve", so I am resolving to do at least a 3 million metre year.
Anyone else going to play?
(Dave raises a dram of Lagavulin - the isle of Islay's finest single malt - and toasts you all! And just to be sure it is Islay's finest, he toasts Rabbie Burns too... )[][/quote]

Happy CNew Year, Dave. OK, I'll put it out there; I'm aiming for a 3Mm season, too. Other personal goals include new PBs in all distances from 5K up, and racking up some on-water meters, either with the local lake-based Club, or in an open-water type single (to be purchased).
(Ted raises a draught of Budwieser- the sandbar of St. Louis' finest malt-based beverage, and toasts all his Loonie shipmates, and Robbie Burns too!)
Slow and Steady is my pace, so it seems,
Slow and Steady wins the race, in my dreams.

Even though I've been erging some since 1987, I only started with the official log data sinced the 04-05 season.

2004-05 47,181m
2005-06 261,788m (this is when my personal erg appeared)
2006-07 154,607m
2007-08 475,904m (This was my first year with the Loonies)
2008-09 1,203,944m

Yup, you Loonies did wonders for me. Thanks for the motivation and inspiration.

Interesting exercise (no pun intended, but I guess it's too late to apologize now ... :? ).

My total meters for prior seasons:

2005: 364,263
2006: 1,411,130 - really getting into it now
2007: 0 - oh well ...
2008: 0 - gaining weight is fun :o

Then along came the Loonies and ...

2009: 5,763,777 - 100 pounds lighter and enjoying a new lease on life :D

The 2010 season is off to a scorching start, but I will be on the road a good bit over the next couple of months, so I'm banking meters in order to stay on that coveted first page of the >10,000 meter Annual Meters Honor Board

My goal for 2010 is 8 million meters, but more importantly, it is to be an active erger every possible day - and for that motivation I'm relying on my fellow Lunatics

I sure didn't mean to go so long without checking in. I had 5 pages of team chit chat to catch up on! Lot's going on these past two weeks. Anyways, congratulations to all the incredible milestones, and to everyone on the team for all your encouragement and meters. I'll be back to rowing once my pigeon loft construction project is done (another week or so).

Dave H

I have rowed a couple of times during learn to row days with HRA (Halifax Rowing Association)

Just27

Indeed, you did see me in your rear view mirror. I Just posted my first 2010 row--100 meters. Just something to get on the board and roster. More to follow. It is good to be home after a whirlwind wind-end.

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 5.3.09

Wowzer, spacers, it is indeed a whole new rowing year! So far, thirty crew members have signed in with the rowing duty officer! Don't worry about how many meters....just get on the boards! Yes, sometimes tough to call the crew back in after a bit of a break off planet at one of the space bars...Great job, Chris, of keeping the communications link going! Thanks!

Season meters as of 3/365 = 829,872 m

Total meters on the day = 106,640 m

Oars in space = 43 percent!

Hey everyone,

Kiba here.. just thought I'd reintroduce myself, since it's the new year and all. I've been pretty antisocial, it's not that I don't love you guys or anything, cause I do :O So my new year's resolution is to post (and update my metres) at a rate that may even be referred to as frequent :)

Two more to add to our current roster

Post by Kona2 » May 4th, 2009, 7:56 pm

Two more of our crew have checked in .....welcome to Kevin M and Dan T! Image

Is your name on the crew list??? Image

When Santa's checking his list of names on the annual meter board....you'll find yourself in a much better place if you are steadily rowing throughout the year instead of trying to pour it on in the last few months.....of course, we'll take ALL meters.....

Got my heart rate up nicely on the rowing machine early this morning....well I was doing a reasonable, but not solid pace, so heart rate working, but not taxed, then a funnel web spider wandered right under the machine and sat there......Tis the season for them and I have my rower up in the garage. Finsihed the interval (nervously) and proceeded to remove it....hope it hasn't got any mates!

Don't think I'll leave my towel on the ground anymore!

Good luck out there

Yikes, and I was whining about a mosquito in the house this evening! Wiki tells me that your Sydney funnelweb is 1"-3" in length, is notoriously aggressive, and is among the deadliest spiders in the world. Pray tell, how did you "remove" it (other than nervously)?
