I think we have had a fantastic Virtual Rowing Challenge. Congratulations to each rower. :D

I heartily concur...congrats to all! I was very impressed that the average total per rower was over 100K :) Of course, that is due in no small part to our top 10 rowing machines, but still, no small feat, terrific!

So, when is the next challenge?!

You are so right , Doctor Mike. A quick calculation shows each member rowing 3399+ meters per day. When Pat gets back online, she can let us know when the next challenge will be.
Have you noticed we are almost in 10th place on the yearly team meters? Go Timbuktoo.

I don't remember what challenges we had last spring, but I've written to a contact at Concept 2. If she answers, I'll pass on the info.

We posted some amazing meters during the January Challenge. Thanks especially to our super rowers!

If one wanted to lay waste to all the energy in the body in the shortest possible time, rowing would be the way to do it. (Kiesling)

Here's the full calendar link with individual challenges as well as the team challenges.

There's also another team option for us before the WRC. Team Canada is only a little over a million meters above us in the university/club standings. If we had several people wanting to row extra for a while, maybe we could overtake them.

Just a thought.

As difficult as it is without the daily postings from our captain, Pat, the forum can still be a place where we can learn each other's goals and encourage each other.

Not sure why I've had 4 difficult months regarding my rowing goals, but it happens. I fell off the 10,000 meter board quite some time ago, so the chances of rowing enough to get back on it by the end of the season are very slim but not impossible. A lot will have to do with the number of days I miss during the last quarter of this rowing season.

Any Colts fans out there? Without my Broncos in the game, I had to choose someone to root for, so I'm going to root for the AFC team.

We are currently 516,119 behind Team Canada in the university standings.

Linda, I miss the updates from Pat, it was nice seeing what everyone was doing. I think you can make it back to the 10000 meter board. That is my goal for this season. I have to average about 13500 for the rest of the season.
My brother in law lives in Biloxi and has had season tickets to the Saints since they were the Aints. Plus he lost his home in Katrina so I am rooting for the Saints. I am a Dolphins fan though.

Sounds like our Captain needs a better PC repair person!

I've reached the one month anniversary of the purchase of my model D. In that month I had a great time joining you all for the January challenge and I've logged 222,687 meters while spending 17:50:44.4 on the erg and lost 8.5kgs, not a bad first month!

I've got 11.5 kgs to go by May 1st to reach my short term goal of being back to an even 200 lbs for the start of my Motocross race season. As far as long term goals I'd like to lose 20.5 kgs to reach a goal weight of 180 lbs which would be interesting as I've never been lighter than 195 in my adult life.

Good luck on the continued weight loss, Doug. I think rowing will get you in good shape for moto-cross. Way to go on all the meters you have rowed.

How about a Super Bowl challenge? What if we tried to row 200 meters for every point scored (combined)? It may be a high scoring game so I am suggesting 200 meters. You would need to log by Tuesday since the game is late, could be rowed Monday or during the game.

Hello Timbuk2 :D

Have not been on here a while, I hope everyone is well. My achilles is making progress and I am going to be back on the erg soon.

I have ordered the skierg, thinking it will be less punishing on my achilles tendon but allow me to get a good cardio workout.

Sorry to see Pat has anothe PC virus - hope to contribute team ski meters soon.

Hey there TimbukTOO-ians and TIMBUK2-ians....
I have returned and as for gettiing a better PC repair person..there was no repair person that could have helped me.Believe me.This virus that I got attacked my computer and the cost of repair would have been more than a new computer at the point of the attack.I got a virus from THIS very forum a few years ago.. and it was equally as "deadly" for my computer back then. You need to be very cautious with all these community forums..even FaceBook. No cyber structure is safe on a PC.They will get you thru the back door every time.
Having that off my mind...
I was in awe of the JVC standings.ALL of you rowed with a tremendous amount of spirit and team work.
Even though we failed to make the top 10..we were up in the top teams and had strength and spirit.Challenging ourselves and each other.
My life has been a bit complicated and my erg has gathered a bit of dust.My meters would not have given us any "edge".
I have lost a few files and yet I did retrieve our team stat spreadsheet.
Getting it back in order is going to take a while.I do have a new computer and just need to take some time to get our numbers back in the system and start to crunch the daily stats.
I want to tell you that we have a new team member..making us 53 team members strong.
WELCOME EVERETT to the team
Please keep rowing strong.. the team is still very much alive as I can tell by your continued participation on the forum.
I may not be back in full swing til next season but I am not gone.....
I had a couple of "old" overuse injuries that are much better since I have taken some time off due to circumstances beyond my control.
I will try to resurrect the stats this weekend if I can and at least you will have some motivation.
hang in there!!!!!
TIMBUKTOO is awesome because of YOU!!!!!!!
