WOD Week Challenge
September 2–8

Can participate on row erg, ski erg, or bike erg! Or, one presumes, some combination thereof!

Take part in a week of different workouts in our new WOD Week challenge! Simply complete five out of the seven daily WODs during the week of September 2–8 to earn your certificate and place on the honor board.

Happy Labor Day (in the US) everyone! Labor Day often marks the end of the tourist season for some of the mountain towns, and there is a lull until ski season starts! Shops and restaurants get a space to take a vacation, and the traffic up and down "the hill" is much more manageable. And, not to throw too much at you, but the Holiday Challenge starts in 87 days!

Photographer David Dale allows Bike Jeffco to use his images. He gets out into the world at oh dark thirty, and captures those elusive sunrise and predawn images. Many of them have more of a nature view than just featuring cyclists, but the time of day is pretty consistent. It's one of those things that calls out to early morning people I think. This photo was taken just a few days ago on Mt Blue Sky (previously known as Mt Evans). Blue Sky will be closed for repairs for all of the 2025 season, and many cyclists are getting that last ride up Blue Sky of the season (it goes up to 14K), and for the near term future! The Blue Sky Hill Climb is a yearly ritual !

At the top of Pikes Peak....14,100 ft or so...wtth a bit of snow! No, haven't taken to climbing 14ers, but the Cog Railway in Manitou Springs looks kind of like a Harry Potter Hogwarts train. It traverses about 7K feet, often at 20-25 percent incline. The air is rarified at that altitude with only 60% of available oxygen that's usually in all the breaths you take.
