We had a very nice time, thank you. I hope you and your family did as well. I'm not that big a fan of hamentachen, but I love coconut (is that part of my looniness? ) cream pie, and my wife made me one with gluten-free crust. mmmmmacrewer wrote: Good to hear from you , I hope you and your kids had a wonderful time on Purim. I did find find glutenfree Hamentashen this year.
Shalom,

Unfortunately, with Purim over that now means it's Pesach cleaning time

Re: The moon looks closer now.
After 20 Mm the prizes repeat, so it is another C2 sports bag, which is pretty nice.just27 wrote: ... and, most importantly, what do our friends at Concept2 send you for attaining 40 MM? (Just so we'll all have something to shoot for ... )

A few years ago I mentioned that I thought maybe a globe or world map would be a nice idea, as 40 Mm is almost all the way around the equator.

Welcome Chris H!
Welcome new team member Chris H ! Thank you for joining us on our virtual journey to the moon!
Howdy folks…
I like the idea of rowing to the moon and back and signed-up yesterday…hopefully I can get some metres on the board for this and future challenges; but hang on, harder for me being down-under!
I’ve done a lot of kayaking, mostly K1, although I seem to spend more time on the rower these days…..and loving it!
Good luck out there,
Baz

You'll just be a jump ahead!
Baz - you'll just be one of the pace setters! Dave H, Angelo and yourself will get a jump on the challenges for us, and we'll bring it "home" so to speak when the challenge is at the end. And rest assured, it will be a flying finish if it is anything like some of our previous challenges! That's the fun of it!
Glad you found the forum pages - look forward to your postings! I'll post an update on where we are as a team in our journey to the moon tomorrow.

Welcome to Barry, Chris H, Jeff, Chris S, and Mitch F ...
... are you all ready to get measured for your space suits?
Chris 27
Where'd you find that!?
That soundtrack looks ever so perfect! Now you'll have to watch the movie !
We have another new teammate today, crew member Jeff M has signed on with us as of late this afternoon. Looks like we've conscripted a few kayakers - I look forward to our canoe vs kayak discussions here on the forum!
In the space of just a few hours we've increased from 70 to 75 crew members! Wowzer!
Row, Luna-Tics, row!

Destination Moon
Here's the write up via Netflix:
Destination Moon(1950) UR
Co-scripted by Robert Heinlein from his novel "Rocketship Galileo," Destination Moon's suspenseful plot relates the saga of man's first voyage to the moon amid a series of scientific cliffhangers.
While I like R. Heinlein, a 1950s movie of this nature may well rival "Queen of Outer Space" for campiness.

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 3.12.09
Here's an update on our distance to the moon (and remember, some crew members might actually want to return to earth....some may wish to explore the galaxy further..!):
Season meters as of 316/365 = 66,057,870 m
Total meters on the day = 1,005,906 m (these kinds of numbers, albeit generated by the wonderous occasion of adding new crew, generate mathematical endorphins !)
Oars in space: 31 percent
March Madness Challenge: At least 5K a day (for 25 days) to keep the march madness at bay...except in the Luna-Tics team ranks....where lunar madness abounds throughout the year!
Luna-Tics still on the progress board: Good job - and good luck!
5K = 22 people (a 3 person uptick due to new team members also being on the board!)
10K = 12 people and holding steady
Number of C2 participants is starting to shrink in both the 5K and 10K categories - hang in there!
MILESTONES.....Bragging Rights....Celebrations:
4.1 MM Chris T
1.9 MM Rodrigo
1.8 MM Barbara
100K Chris S
Half Marathon # 103 on the year Dan
* For those who are new to the crew, we use a half moon to designate a half marathon (also called a half moon), and a full moon to designate a full marathon distance rowed.
TWO Million Meter Watch:
Ted with (71,195 m) to go!
Rodrigo with (98,175 m) to go!
ONE Million Meter Watch: At last check, a mere 85 m separated the current top two meter holders in this category! We've seen these numbers change at the last minute before!
And thanks to today's lunar crew for moving us forward:
Chris H 405,121 m (imported)
Jeff M 386,017 m (imported)
