On a quick walk, really like seeing the many different cacti - birds were flying in and out of the holes in the main trunk of the saguaro.

I've been looking for the owls, and had finally spotted the older great horned owl (not in this photo), when something about the way the branch was propped up suggested that maybe that part wasn't a branch. Sure enough, just after I grabbed this photo, this young owl flew off into one of the trees. I didn't realize that they stayed light colored for quite this long, but you can see the coloration streaks are starting to change. A cool opportunity, and the dogs were very patient while I was trying to determine whether it was a photo to take or not! For all the things that change in our worlds, it is good to see that the hunting grounds are productive enough that the owls return ... and they bring their babies!

A couple of days ago, Concept2 ergdata users around the globe hopped on their respective ergs, turned on their mobile devices (if that was the way they were going to do the tracking and upload) and well...THINGS were different. Gone was the replica of what we might see on our PM monitors. Instead, we were digitized in a different way and had to turn off our mental autopilot and take a look at how to navigate. I'm sure there are some benefits to the upgraded app...somewhere. But it's soooo stark in its screen appearance.
