We are drawing down on the final days of Mud Season Madness. Quite a few of us have been racking up those big laundry bills.
We are currently in 14th position in the World Erg Challenge. If you haven't joined this challenge yet, there's still time. You can join it from the Teams tab/page of your Logbook.
And there's one more challenge looming on the horizon, the April Fool's Challenge. https://log.concept2.com/challenges/april-fools

We have a Lunie winner for the March Mudness Challenge! Congratulations to Carol W on being the right amount of meters at the right time! We almost always have a Lunie winner during this Challenge...and this year...it's YOU!
I guess horseback riders have to follow the traffic rules, too, in Santa Fe!

Another episode...bunny trails of the mind!
Springtime....and the bunnies are busy, busy, BUSY! So, here we go. It all started with another cool photo taken this past week by Alaska Dan. He says "heard... then saw 3 Trumpeter Swans today (near Anchorage)...way early for them...no lakes are thawed...somehow they will survive." Once again, all senses need to be tuned in to natural surroundings...and phone or camera at the ready...because there's a lot of cool stuff in our world. Enjoy it !
Some may know the children's classic "The Trumpet of the Swan" by E B White of Charlotte's Web and Stuart Little fame - but that's not the bunny trail I wanted to follow. No, I'm thinking more about migration navigation (after all, danwho did place me at an Astrogator's Conference in one of his posts - and wondered what Astrogator's might conference about!). It seems that birds also follow the stars to migrate to their summer and winter habitats since most migration takes place at night when the North Star and Betelgeuse (and you thought this was only a movie thing!) are brightest.
And...the video of the swans...(hopefully without one of the dreadful ads that precede a YouTube occasionally!)

Lucky 13th in the World Erg! Great work by the Lunies!
And...April's Challenge is...
April Fools' Challenge
April 1–15
Join us in April for a streak challenge with a difference. To take part, you need to row, ski or ride every day for 15 days from April 1. Each day, however, the distance you need to do rises. On April 1 you need to do at least 1000m. On April 2, you need to do at least 2000m, all the way up to 15,000m on April 15.
The Details
Row, ski or ride at least the correct amount each day from April 1 through to April 15.
April 1: at least 1000 meters
April 2: at least 2000 meters
April 3: at least 3000 meters
and so on up to at least 15,000 meters on April 15
Note: BikeErg meters are counted as half when applied to the challenge. So on April 1 you have to ride at least 2000m. On April 2 at least 4000m and so on.
You can combine meters from different machines, so for example on April 8, you could do 4000m on a RowErg and 4000m on a SkiErg.
This is an individual challenge. There is no sign up. You do not need to belong to a team to participate.
Meters must be entered online.
Note: RowErg, SkiErg and BikeErg meters only.

Burst proof....snort...
This bunny trail might resonate with most of you. Many years ago, came downstairs to find that a toilet hose had burst and a small flood zone was happening. After much clean up, you betcha every single toilet had braided hoses installed. In fact, ANYTHING that needed a hose connection in the house got braided hoses. However. These do not last forever. Some experts say replace these every 6-10 years, and some say they've never seen one burst. All I know is that I thought I'd run a quick load of laundry, and as the washer was filling, there was a sudden surge in sound. Enough to investigate. Naturally, when I jump up to see what's happening, two K9s also rush to see what's happening...especially if there's yelling involved. Hot water was pouring out from behind the washer. The hose end had popped off the coupling that was attached to the machine itself. Waded through the rapidly deepening water levels to reach the shut off valve, grabbed a bunch of towels, and alternated swearing (must owe the cuss jar about sixty bucks!) and clean up. Lordy. The dogs thought I'd created an indoor swimming pool for them! So. Consider changing your braided hoses out if it has been awhile....
