My knee replacement date of 8 June has finally arrived, so I'm turning the stats over to danwho for now. Erg on, Lunies! I'll be back! Bionic.

I was able to knock out the tri-sport. Started ultra low carb last Sunday. Maybe torn my bicep a couple days ago. Ended up being more a test of completion than pushing personal bests.

What I’m more proud of is my 12 year old Maddie completing the bike heptathlon today. She went in order of distance and finished with the 20k today. She wanted to quit the 10k with more than 2k left yesterday but she ground it out. Her confidence was pretty low heading into the 20k today. I talked to her about backing off her pace and how starting to fast can really make it a bear. She backed into off the pace quite a bit but was still a good challenge to complete. She sprinted through the finish line.

At the same time, my little 8 year old, Kaitlyn, muscled through a 4K on the rower. She’s quite a determined little girl.

I thought the challenge would be one thing going in but turned out to be something much different and better on the other side.

The Crossfit world is undergoing some major controversy right now, due to some poor behavior by owner/CEO Greg Glassman (hopefully there will be a satisfactory resolution). But the Rogue Invitational, which has a lot of the same athletes, is still going on this weekend (June 13,14). Rogue Fitness, along with others, has broken all ties with Crossfit over the controversy. Because of Covid-19, it will be an online competition this year. In case you are interested, it will be live-streamed on RogueFitness.com/invitational and the Rogue Fitness YouTube channel from 10am to 5pm EST both days, and recap footage will probably be provided as soon as possible.

James Cracknell, British Olympic rower, sets new British indoor marathon record for Heavyweight 40-49 Men (he's 48). This attempt was in aid of Headway - the brain injury association. James Cracknell, himself, suffered a serious brain injury in 2010 when he was struck by a fuel truck while cycling.
