This does sound interesting, I might have to give this a crack and see if i can work it out!!!BigBrett58 wrote: ↑January 25th, 2020, 8:30 amI just came across a how to guide on Ergathlons. https://www.concept2.com/news/introducing-ergathlon
I’ve been doing the same concept over the last few weeks. Will be fun to log it as a workout by chaining the machines together.
My quest for a million meters for the competition is coming into the final stretch. I’m going to use some of the cushion I’ve built up to take it easy the next couple days. My body is sore and worn out. The last couple days were the most challenging to complete since the first week. I lost all my Christmas weight gain and am able to eat whatever I want while losing. That’s been fun after 6 months of eating discipline prior to Christmas. While it may seem crazy to many, pushing your limits for a month is a cool experience. In my opinion, the mental toughness required is the biggest challenge. You do have to have a minimum level of physical fitness to do it, but it’s probably not as high as one my think.
This is the first day of the last week of the month. For some, it’s time to coast in to your goals. For others, it’s maintain the pace or even sprint to the finish. Whatever it is for you, I salute you!

Lunie Challenge team keeps cranking out the erg numbers and hanging on to the 13th overall and 7th virtual rankings. Even though we are currently at half a million ahead of the Ancients, I am mindful that they are gap closers in a hurry. Keep going, Lunies! Six days of opportunity remain! Buckle up!
There is an ice fishing contest this weekend (Three Lakes Ice Fishing Contest) at this not remote enough mountain location...it amazes me to see snowmobiles on the lake. Lots of little huts pop up near chosen fishing hole locations. I'm pretty sure there's some card playing, etc., going on in these temporary get away from it all structures. There's a daily weigh in for fish caught - and those fish can be caught in any of the three lakes near here. A "village" on ice is set up on the ice near the weigh in marina - complete with lamp posts. It's a big deal here, and with more moderate temperatures this weekend, pretty sure the registration numbers are up.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
If anyone tries that ergathalon, here's a tip. The bikerg has it in a weird spot. You have to look under "new workout". Not the same spot as on the rowerg and skierg which is under games. I did the shortest distance just to try it out. I'm ranked 8/10, so I'm guessing it hasn't caught on yet. I thought it was fun. I see there is an option to repeat, so you could do several circuits of the preset distances. I plan on doing many more.
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
That was a pretty nice rear-view. I'm guessing this is closer to what you see.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
I think I came across a bug in the system. The ergathalon counts towards "multierg" meters which are their own category. For example, the rowing meters in the ergathalon don't count towards your total rowing meters. I'm not sure how I feel about that. The rather sketchy consequence is that multierg meters in their entirety seem to count towards the competition meters. In other words, the biking meters within the ergathalon appear to count one for one in competition meters. I wonder how many people realize this?
On a side note, I did the middle distance erathalon to finish out my exercise day: 5000m row, 10,000m bike, followed by 5000 ski. I'm very proud of my 2:12.5 pace which includes transitions between machines. I'm so thankful for Concept 2, these challenges, and this community. This has just been a wonderful environment for me to improve my health.
