Thanks Will and Chris. As you guys know it's a long row to get to 10,000 meter board, and a grind to stay there. I intend to be there through the JVC, but visions of open water and canoes floating in said water are a siren call to me. I expect to be heading down Dan's way for a few weeks in Feb and that will tumble me back to the 7500 meter board. Oh well....

Ugh. Say it's not CPA interval training set season, already! (We diehard procrastinators know that October 15 is the real drop-dead date ... is there FairTax on the Moon?)

Congrats, Ken G on the 1 million meter season! Awesome.

Dave H: Nice picture ... was that taken on a recent trip to Antarctica? Brrr. (I was a "mere" HM behind you this morning ... the game is on again!)

Hi Chris - photo is a guide for what K2 can expect in NZ! That was aboard a boat on Milford Sound, where it rains 200 days of the year and they have over 10 metres of precipitation in a year! (record is 900mm of rainfall in 24 hours :o ).

I snuck another HM in last night just before midnight, however couldn't log it till this morning... keep chasing - you know that at the end of the month you will get to post metres after the challenge ends here! (then again I might keep a few sneaky metres tucked away till later... )

Cheers,
Dave

Hmm ... you are quite possibly not as nice as you might appear!

This is pushing me beyond my comfort zone ... surely you don't want that on your conscience!?

Marathon completed! :D ... it actually took me longer than 8 hours but I did finish eventually... That's the slowest marathon time in the rankings (for all years and all ages :P ). Trying to figure out the best way to recover - I was really really tired today.

Have a great time in New Zealand!!

Sheepster,

Nice row. I feel for you. After my first one I said never again. But never say never.

A great big congratulations to you, Sheepster, on your marathon. Way to stick it out - the model of perseverance - and to think, we have the honor of having you on our team!

By the way...who are you?...what's your real name? Awhile back we had a round of confessions for everyone whose forum name is not their real name so we would know who we were getting to know better. :D

And Doctor Dan...when you signed on for the team this time last year did you ever think you would be on the top of the hill like this? Amazing achievement there, Doc.

I, too, said, "Never again." after my first marathon row, but did it again the next year (it is always my last row of the rowing season), and they are not so bad after the first one. Well, maybe they are so bad, but if you let enough time lapse between them you don't remember it so acutely. You should eat and sleep as you feel you need to for recovery. And drink lots of water.
