Conrgrats! to all who met their goals on the challenge, and to Ed again 1 million in a month is beyond amazing. The Denver Indoor Rowing Championships are back in town starting tonight, and I've entered the 1 hour and 2k. My pace has really suffered the past couple years as I have been dropping 100+ meters every year on my hour row for the last 3 years and I really don't want that to continue, so I've been working on shorter interval faster pace sessions, hoping to hit 15k. I'm a little nervous because the pace I have to start at and hold to hit 15k is a pace I haven't been able to hold for 10k's so I'm going to need some adrenaline on my side and Ive taken most of this last week off (rowing) to rest. I am really excited to see my nephew, who will be rowing alongside me tonight, and will be several hundred if not a thousand + meters ahead of when we're done, I'm definitely proud of him as he has improved quite a lot over the last 2 years.

Congratulations to all on another successful ArMOONda !!! Looking forward to seeing the graphic for the whole ArMOONda.
One of these days, I will have to talk myself into earning another bathtub. Since AJ went to the trouble of making the graphic, it should get used again. But no worries, AJ, there will be no need for a longboat for this camper. You know those frozen meals that say "Asian inspired"... Well, I'll be Ed-inspired, but still in the 2 for $5 section.
Best of luck tonight, Doug !!!

Thanks everyone! Great night at DIRC (Denver indoor rowing championships) last night. I came up short of my goal of 15k
1st year I missed it, oh well I did hit 14827 and am happy with that, but my nephew Sean hit 15853 which was a great effort and I believe he will surpass 16k within the next year. This a a well organized event and a blast to participate in, it's always fun meeting the new participants and reuniting with the regulars.

That's a great result for 60 minutes - and puts you in the top 45 percent of ALL the rankings for that category. I've often thought that the mile high advantage would be greatest if you were to row at an event with lesser altitude, so that you had the training at altitude advantage. I know that all my personal bests were achieved in Tucson and not in Denver! Still, I get that that's not the point of your participation -
Thanks for sharing your results !

Awesome effort doug, well done sir.
Incredible support from Concept, had an issue with the Bike and they just sent a new main body (which incldes flywheel) so basically a brand new bike! managed 2.4 Million metres on the old bike so hoping for so much more in the year to come.
This is why I love the Concept2 brand - amazing service and products.

I must agree with you K2, most of my personal best have been in Minnesota and one in Santa Barbara, altitude does seem to affect results. Thats why I always seek out a concept 2 when traveling.

I'm curious about the bike issue...and suspect other bike ergers might be as well ! Can you share what happened with the "old" bike (still practically brand new with just 2.4 million meters!) ? I agree that Concept2's service and products are outstanding.

Happy to especially if others are interested. I've written a quick post here
viewtopic.php?f=46&t=185235 to say how good I thought the customer service has been but basically had a kind of sensation/vibration when pedalling - happens each revolution once. It wasn't a loud knock and it appeared to be coming from the pedals or crank arms - not the flywheel.
I wasn't sure what to do some in the end I contacted the guys at Concept and following a number of emails they didn't want to just send new crank arms as I had requested but the whole body! I thought that was incredible. Recived the new body shortly after, fitted yesterday and noticed that the design of the crank arms have changed! interesting.
Took it for a spin today, only did a short ride and it is so smooth! Fitted Shimano pedals and that has definitely helped with power. The drag on damper setting 1 is only 40 and 235 at level 10 I think. Very impressed!
If anyone has any questions please ask, happy to help.
