Image Day 13 of 33...

The wind howled, the temperatures dropped...snow stuck to the tops of the outdoor decorations...naturally this did not deter the Goldens in their desire for their daily walk. Naturally. Shiver me timbers, and let's test the winter gear!

Meanwhile, we are reindeering onward towards our Holiday Challenge goals! Over 5 million Holiday Challenge meters completed by Lunies thus far!

Two More Lunie Reindeer !!

Post by Kona2 » December 6th, 2018, 11:41 am

Lunie reindeer have been appearing in a two by two fashion quite a few times this season! Not surprising, then, that our birthday twins bg and Minnie would release their reindeer on the same day! No coincidences for sure!

Image
Starbuck (bg)

Image
Mata M16(Minnie)

Note: Minnie says that despite Mata H's bad rap, she still likes her. Taking some license, we're rebranding Mata with a new British identity as Mata M16.

And....David A has surpassed the 200K milestone...earning $6 and the coveted antler lights...AND the Holiday Challenge pin! Good work!

Ah. I didn't go back and look at the stats after I initially did them yesterday! My reindeer is still foot stomping at the gate...as my plans for some extra erg time disappeared as the afternoon went on! Good work on your part!

You guys are throwing down some serious meters! Great job team! I had a slight kink in the chain these past few days. I had five bags of apples from a friend's orchard that were beginning to go bad; thus the applesauce project commenced. No time to row. Finally got it all canned up last night. 14 pints + 14 quarts of delicious homemade applesauce! I'm set for the year! Hoping to release my reindeer by the weekend.

Image Day 15 of 33...

Image Another Episode...bunny trails of the mind

The National Cathedral in Washington DC is a majestic place of worship, an Episcopalian cathedral that is the fourth tallest habitable building in DC. Construction started in 1907, the Teddy Roosevelt era. Many visits to Washington DC, but I've never been to the cathedral. Yesterday's state funeral for our 41st US President provided many views of the cathedral's interior amidst some towering words. I went looking for an online tour of the Cathedral, and before I knew it...I was down the bunny trail.

There is a Space connection to the Cathedral. The Apollo 11 mission donated a lunar rock for the purpose of creating a stained glass Space Window. It is remarkable, as is each mission into space. The Space Window was dedicated on the fifth anniversary of the lunar landing in 1974, with all three of the Apollo 11 astronauts present at the dedication. Here's a short video showing lunar rock placement and a few things about the Space Window
