All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 4.17.18

Post by Kona2 » April 18th, 2018, 6:32 pm

There are a few things that will make you stop in your tracks and take care of it...even if you're running out the door to an appointment. Barfing cats is on that list. So theatrical. And the dogs were SO interested. Oh yes, I was taking care of that even if I was late. Not that you needed to know this necessarily, but I did lose my window of opportunity to post this AM for good cause. And tomorrow, will stuff the kitty into the cat carrier and take him to the vet. Now there's some theatrics coming...try getting the cat out of the carrier in the vet's office, and suddenly that four legged animal has eight legs. Recovery is occurring.

Btw, reading back through some of the comments are bg's race and things in general, I noted this one kind of tucked quietly into the midst. Made me laugh.

Meanwhile, it rained pine cones here yesterday as we had sustained gusts of 30 to 35 mph for many hours. Somewhat large branches catapulted off trees. This was a delight for the dogs. Looks like pick up stick country out there. Tree shrapnel.

I was thinking about the fast-approaching end of the current rowing year, and realized
that we won't be seeing Richard's profile after the end of this month. Rest easy, Richard.

ImageImage erging days remain in the Concept2 2018 Erging Season....

Image Hooboy! Looming ahead, just starting to be visible, is the Global Marathon AND CENTURY Challenge....for those with Erg Bikes, there is a whole new opportunity to do a metric century to accomplish the Challenge. 62.5 miles could be about four hours on an erg bike I think. You have to complete this one in one session.

Meanwhile (there is always a meanwhile), we have several Lunies who can just about reach out and touch that next milestone.

David T with 1 m to go to reach 2 MM.....wait, we've seen this savoring of the last meter before....
Dana with 12,803 m to go to reach 1 MM
Jonathan with 49,938 m to go to reach 1 MM
Kellee with 88,605 m to go to reach 1 MM

And then there are those of us who need about 10K to reach a number like say 700K for the year. A slippage from the previous year, but hey! Every year is filled with different stuff or life would be less interesting. However we all end up, it will be a splendid Lunie finish and we'll celebrate it!

bg's Red Sox are off to a fabulous start....unlike the pitching of some of our Rockies' starters....seriously, THREE pitches and the opposing team had a 2-0 lead. This ultimately led to a 16-4 pommeling.... baseball will try your soul... Image

Image Earth Day...more important than ever!

Image days remain in 2018 season....

Baseball players and fans are a superstitious lot....so I hope calling out yesterday's excellent Red Sox year to date record didn't curse the team into being a no hit victim....alas and woe.

Meanwhile, as the season wraps up, we're still cheering on our teammates who are pushing hard to get to another milestone! Keep it going! Dana is less than 7K away from ONE million meters!
