A word or few of explanation (which I normally would have offered up before folks had to even wonder where in the world the usually dependable K2 happened to be - except I kept thinking I'd get stats and shoutouts done!). It was a last minute decision to go to Nebraska to pick up my father-in-law for Easter week. There is a big family gathering locally each year for Easter. Like many families, we used to do reunions - and I believe some of the younger members of the family are now going to take up that torch this year. Meanwhile, aging parents often mean they don't travel well. So, I went and picked him up for the week. I think I've got it under control now - takes a day or two to recalibrate. So I pick what is most important for that day. Or the squeakiest wheel. Hahaha!
Day 26 or 27 of 31....mud is bubbling up EVERYWHERE....and it's gonna be a messy, muddy day!
Congratulations to our Tough Mudders Norma, Dan O', Gary, and Tombeur - first batch of finishers in the 10K (and by default the 5K)!
Congratulations to Tough Mudders Tim G, Steve W and David T - finishers in the 5K batch
Day 13 of 32....
Take a deep breath and get yer eyedrops ready...there are going to be a zillion numbers cascading across your screens. Snort.

So easy for those bunny trails to just pop up out of nowhere! All it took was Thor's statement "rowing at night" and I immediately thought of Thor working away at his new novel....Rowing at Night.
Had to force myself to the catch up on the numbers task at hand. Whew. Glad that's done.

Hmm, a mystery novel? An instruction book on indoor rowing?
A compelling story about an eccentric private detective who never leaves his home and solves the most complex mysteries while rowing on his C2. How can the Mighty Thor connect such clues relayed to him as: candle stick, library, butler, iPad and of course the daring beautiful mistress of the mansion? Thor solves the crime that has befuddled to local police for weeks. All while rowing with his stunning blue eyes closed and sweat rolling down his chiseled naked upper body.
K2, bet you are sorry you opened that can.

Forget the beautiful mistress - the butler sounds much better! In fact, for anyone who happened to watch Masterpiece Theater in the time before - before many things I guess, I think Lord Peter Wimsey's man Bunter would be a good one to help solve mysteries.

It's Opening Day of Baseball Season! And it's snowing here, so good that the game for the Rockies will be in Arizona!
Still in 8th...but those big meter updates pushed us over the FIVE million meter team meter milestone. Good stuff!
Mud season is closing soon...or at least the virtual mud season will be closing! 31 Lunies still in the game for the 5K and 16 for the 10K. As of this AM, no Lunies had won the coveted prize drawing. Rats.

Day 30 or 31 of 31....who are the muddiest of the muddy?!!!
The mud season challenge is coming to a close, with several teammates in an all out effort to reach that great muddy finish line and get their 25 done! In the 10K bracket: Jeff D, Liz and Kevin are down to the very wire.....c'mon! You can DO it! And in the 5K herd: Chuck E, Anya, Louis, Kellee, Kevin, Doug, Thor, Janice, Minnie and Liz are down to the last tabulations, too.
You've come this far...keep it going!!!
And then there are the so far muddiest of the muddy:
, Tim, Dan O, David T, and Steve W have slogged through the mud EVERY day for this challenge! Can they put in two more days of muddiness? I bet yes. Shaun will surely need to participate in the Championsheeps of Synchronized Swimming following playing in all this mud though... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCtRqQ2OZdA
Meanwhile, in the overall 5K participants group, the number stands at 1,526 with 31 Lunies. That's a mere 12 percent of those who started the Challenge still hanging on in the overall group...but 52 percent of the Lunies who started are STILL IN THE MUD! And in the 10K herd, 579 ergers remain with 16 of those being Lunies. That's an 11 percent survival rate for the overall group...and a 48 percent survival rate for the Lunies. Team power.
Speaking of Team Power, we've come up a notch! Good stuff!
