Congratulations, Jeff B, on completing the first of what will most likely be many half marathons on your rower! Like other first evers, you're going to remember this one. We wish you many more first evers!

I'm running the Tuscaloosa Half in Alabama - state #24 on my 50 state quest. Then I'll be eating shrimp po'boys and creole food for the next week in NOLA.

Good for you! Doing the half and about to do the half. When I make it up the stairs to this place without being winded I am happy enough. In May comes the C2 marathon challenge. I've done it but never with ease. Grin.
Keep on rock'n.

Tomorrow is practically a Lunie holiday...it's Pi Day or 3.14. There are sure to be some Lunies incorporating those numbers into their daily totals. This might require a bit of planning, so just giving you a heads up since the totals presented on Pi day will be generated by us today. Not sure how

Btw, not sure how many Lunies wear a Fitbit...wondered if anyone else started their day (admittedly the first Monday after Daylight Savings Time happens here in the US) to find that their numeric totals had carried over from the day prior. It was like a bonus, except the Fitbit people said they would make it right in the totals. Guess that software programs can get mixed up with the DST switch as well.

I didn't notice anything off with my Fitbit, yesterday. But, I rarely look at the steps till I'm halfway through my evening row/bike, and want to see how far till I meet my daily goal. My Palm Springs friend asked me, last week, what purpose a Fitbit served ... I'm ofttimes appalled at how inactive I can be, left to my own devices and a new book!Kona2 wrote:Btw, not sure how many Lunies wear a Fitbit...wondered if anyone else started their day (admittedly the first Monday after Daylight Savings Time happens here in the US) to find that their numeric totals had carried over from the day prior. One of those new books that I was reading, mentioned daylight savings time being designated "Romeo," as opposed to "Juliet," which is standard time. Or, maybe it's the other way around, I don't recall which was which. I can't find this on Google (other than Romeo is UTC -5, and Juliet may be used to denote your local time) so am wondering what I was reading about. I think it was a book about a Canadian intelligence officer ... eh!

First things first, a toast to The Grande Dames ...
When you think about it, the Romeo and Juliet you found with Google could be used to distinguish in or out of DST ...if you lived in a UTC-5 zone, which does apply to a fair amount of Canada, and also to me.
Since UTC is unaffected by DST, UTC-5 always gives a time unaffected by DST. Juliet, being local time, could be affected by DST.
I saw a link with all those military time zone names: https://militarybenefits.info/military-time/.
After reading this list, I now understand why people from your time zone keep looking for that lost Shakespeare draft, which was originally entitled Uniform and Juliet.
And why the Buenos Aires translation was banned... Papa and Juliet.

Whoop, whoop, and we're going to have another celebration for Minnie. Minnie has been Queen of the Boat, and Minnie the Mooner quite often, and she's certainly hula'd her way through all the 40 millions. Meanwhile, and these are numbers from early today, the 5K participants dropped by another 14 percent overall. The 10K participants dropped 16 percent from yesterday's numbers as well. So. That makes 69 percent dropped from the highest 5K participation, and 72 percent from the highest 10K participation. The Lunies, gritty ergers that we are down 27 percent from our highest 5K participation, and 36 percent from our highest 10K participation rate. Power of a TEAM !!!! Tough challenge! I'm working hard to hang on to the edge, and I may surely fall off as well. Yesterday I decided I would head over to the strength training section of the gym. Oooo. Ouch. Quads and calves are screaming. This did not keep me from playing golf today, but suffice to say not even the dogs got a walk. Guess that wasn't a very good idea.
