For any who are interested, the World Rowing Indoor Championship (WRIC) is happening this weekend - now a 2-day event, both Saturday and Sunday. And it's in Alexandria, VA this year. And this year, it also includes 30 minute rows and marathons and half-marathons, since those have always been part of the Erg Sprints in Alexandria.
This is a big change for the WRIC. It used to be that the WRIC was aligned with the CRASH-B race in Boston, and that's not true this year. And so, it used to be that the Lunies could use the WRIC Live Feed as an opportunity to cheer for, and hopefully catch a glimpse of bg during her race. But now, bg's CRASH-B race will be next weekend - and I don't know if there will be a Live Feed for that since it's not the WRIC this year.

I managed to pull together a few links if anyone wants to check things out.
Main link: http://www.worldrowing.com/events/2018- ... nformation
Click on the "Live Streaming" tab to see the Live Stream. (Choosing not to show the direct link, since the Forum doesn't like posts with too many links.)
Click on the "Startlists and Results" tab to see an early version of the Results page, with the list of people entered.
Or you can see the list of entries here: https://www.regattacentral.com/regatta/ ... 0&org_id=0.
Schedule of events here: http://www.ergsprints.com/schedule/.
Hopefully, when it's over there will be a race analysis link somewhere. Those are sometimes available for at least some of the participants after a race - a graph for each person that plots changes in pace and stroke rate over the course of a 2K.

I don't see a UK presence in the list of entries. If that's true, I'm not sure if it's due to still feeling an attachment to the CRASH-B, or something else. Dealing with travel and time change is always a big deal, but then it's not much of a World Championship without other countries. I keep hoping for a return of Rocket Roy - he was always fun to watch - you can still catch him on Youtube. I did notice Olena Buryak in the list of entries for "Open (age 23+) Women 2000M" on Sunday - she's always been something to see.

Whoop, whoop and way to become the appropriately palindromic 11th meter multi-millionaire for this Lunie season! Congratulations Image on achieving a TWO million meter season! That's simply amazing...and done almost entirely in palindromes, too, Mrs. P! We wish you many, MANY more palindromes and millions!

I've been watching some of the WRIC Live Feed - just had a great race with Andy Benko in in the 50-54 Men 2K. And I've been hearing about many competitors from GBR, Peru, Germany, and other countries. Somehow, the list of entries looked a little less "worldly" when I looked yesterday. I think I got the wrong impression about that.

Live Feed is a little spotty - goes down periodically. But just got to see/hear Graham Benton's win. Good stuff.

Thanks for the wric info DanWho, I wasn't aware it was going on. It will be interesting to see all the results once they are posted. I heard Benko set a new world record in the 50-54 category with a 6:01.7, which is Amazing!

Yeah, that was an exciting race. And I notice the Results tab (http://www.worldrowing.com/events/2018- ... lts-iframe) has already been updated to include the final times (and the country). And there's a little down arrow next to the final time that shows the pace and stroke rate at each 500M split. which I always find interesting. Some people (Lwts especially) sometimes have these incredible stroke rates - it's interesting to see - as hard as it is for me to imagine maintaining a stroke rate of 1:30 to 1:40 for very long, it's also hard for me to imagine a stroke rate of 40 (no matter what the pace). What I saw, I really enjoyed. I think they did a great job. If it's in Va. again next year, maybe I'll talk myself into going. Ugggh, but then I'd probably really want to train. :)
