BAZzy wrote: Just catching up, and I must post the following on "Henry Ernst Searle - Champion Sculler of the World 1888 & 1889"

I regularly paddle past the monument on the Parramatta River in Sydney. The monument is on some rocks not too far from the fabulous Sydney Harbour. And can I say, I always smile when I read those words "Champion Sculler of the World"...love it!

And I should add, this is rowing's heartland in Sydney, with numerous clubs along this stretch of the river, especially some of the school rowing teams...

Mind you, I'm paddling either on my surf ski, or kayak, rather than rowing - but hey, I grew up kayaking facing forward!

You can read some more about Henry here, a great story about a great Australian.

Cheers, Baz

Ps I must add, a balmy 26C today in the Harbour City, beach weather B)

Always good to hear from you - your adventures are often as eventful as those of other Aussies (like Searle!). And that's just the parts of the stories that you tell us! But seriously....while beach weather can be ANYTHING at the beach....below 80 F seems a bit chilly...! Thanks for the link to Searle's info...stuff that Aussie legends are made of!

Oh no, it is very pleasant the water temperature is just right, and North Narrabeen, where I kayak, swim and surf has a "world class" surfing break...(for the surfer's amongst us)

If any Luna-tics venture this way, give me a shout, so much to see and do...! Cheers, Baz B)

SpaceX's Starman mannequin-in-a-spacesuit pilots the red Tesla ...with Don't Panic...written to cover the navigation screen, and playing David Bowie's Space Oddity... Tony Stark...you might have some competition from Elon Musk....

Gotta say that the video of two of the three rockets setting back down on their target launch pads was incredible!....makes space travel exciting all over again...but then...that's part of the lure for the Lunies!

Meanwhile, hoping that everyone is staying healthy....erging helps keep us that way! Watch out for ubiqui-virus! It can be everywhere...STILL it looks like a blue sky day!

Way to go Dan O and Louis!

My shoulder is coming along. Might try some light rowing soon. I played in the gym to find much less pain. Still pretty stiff but working on that.

Keep on rock'n.

Image And now for something completely different. Random, in fact. If I had had a professor like Jordan Peterson, I might have turned into a neuroscientist or something. Jordan Peterson has written a rather popular book called 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos. These rules are very oddly named, and yet you may find (if you pursue any of this) that it makes good sense. I watched a YouTube video of a presentation he did - I think at University of Toronto - about his book. He is a very entertaining lecturer...one of those who is consistently chosen by the underground academic raters as best of the best for a prof. Jordan P comes into the video about minute 3....and he gets started on telling us how much we are like lobsters by minute 7, so hang in there until minute 7 and see what you think about how he explains the world. All I can say is find a way to boost your seratonin. Eat more turkey. One or two of you might actually watch this, some may read the book...and some may read the take off article about it in The Guardian. I liked the bit about the lobsters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5RCmu-HuTg
