We are leaving shortly and going to spend the night so we can be there in lots of time for Janice’s race at 9 AM. I will not be competing his time as I am still on the injured list. The shoulder is improving and I hope to be more active next week. We will likely be out of touch until after we return on the morrow.
I will be tapping my white cane to keep Jan’s rhythm on track. Hmm, maybe.

Keep on rock’n.
Best of luck, Janice. I'll try tapping my foot in synch with Thor. But I could use a little heads up, are we going more Foghat's Slow Ride or AC/DC's Thunderstruck?
Good luck, Jan!!!

I think I was rooting for the underdog...and Nick Foles played at Arizona...and it was an entertaining game. Trickery, and REALLY long passes by both teams.

Image Now here's a way to EARN a unique valentine's card....Blue sky day!

The cross training provided by our ergs is wonderful...and when things like the 2018 Ride the Rockies Routes pop up as YET ANOTHER February temptation, well you can rest assured that YOU will be ready with the help of your ergs...bike ergs probably a good help here, but there is NOTHING that supplants time in the road bike saddle for these RTR experiences.

Image Ride the Rockies 2018 Route ....

New this year is a one day ride of 48 miles....and it's a Steamboat Springs loop. They had me at "there will be cows, sheep and a historic mine." I've ridden this Ride the Rockies Route before and it is awesome. Just in case anyone else might be considering it.... :D

Day 3 is a well known loop from the 2015 USA Pro Challenge. This route will showcase the quiet roads of Routt County with some straights, twists, and a few climbs. There will be cows, sheep and a historic mine. The 48 mile loop will be open to 1 day riders as well as those registered for the full week.

Uh huh; so, y'think that my daily 45 minutes on the erg bike and a half hour on the rower will make me ready to Ride the Rockies!? Not even the very tempting lure of cows, Shaun's relatives, and an old mine could sway my opinion of that endeavour. Bike that Bubble Universe, Astrogator!

Share worthy for sure! Thanks!
thanks from me too :]
Just catching up, and I must post the following on "Henry Ernst Searle - Champion Sculler of the World 1888 & 1889"

I regularly paddle past the monument on the Parramatta River in Sydney. The monument is on some rocks not too far from the fabulous Sydney Harbour. And can I say, I always smile when I read those words "Champion Sculler of the World"...love it!

And I should add, this is rowing's heartland in Sydney, with numerous clubs along this stretch of the river, especially some of the school rowing teams...

Mind you, I'm paddling either on my surf ski, or kayak, rather than rowing - but hey, I grew up kayaking facing forward!

You can read some more about Henry here, a great story about a great Australian.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Ernest_Searle

Cheers, Baz

Ps I must add, a balmy 26C today in the Harbour City, beach weather B)
