LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Team Shirts
Player One - you're right. Early on, we did have a team t-shirt. I will have to go back through the archives and see what I can find out. We do have graphics that we could post up on Cafe Press or Zazzle if you wish to make a shirt of your choosing. Let me do some research on this one! Our resident artist, AJ, has been very creative over the years and has improved upon our graphics !
He's A Meter Multi-Millionaire....AGAIN!!
Whoop, whoop and another turn of the meter dial for Ed! Congratulations, Ed, on achieving a FOUR million meter season! Again. Simply an amazing number of meters....the meter piggy bank is bursting at the seams! We wish you continued success and many more millions!

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 10.22.17
There's nothing quite like a gallop through the neighboring trails with Thing One and Thing Two (separately as they are strong Goldens) to wake you up when the temperature is in the low 40s - although putting the erg of choice out on the deck or patio or front porch would be a good equivalent ! However you get the meters - get the meters done!
Perhaps AJ can amend this Luna-Tics logo to include the ski and bike erg?
Another episode...bunny trails of the mind...
Scanning the horizon for rabbits is a favorite pastime for the pups. Thus far, Kona the K9 was the fastest and did indeed catch a few of the hoppers. Generally this was met with the equivalent of a fur raspberry, phftttw...she didn't know what to do with them, and they would ultimately live. Kihei was the first to actually put a smallish one in her mouth and bring it in. Aerie followed suit. And so it is that all along the trails we walk, gallop and generally check out that we are on bunny alert each and every time. Today was no exception.
There weren't very many rabbits out there - but the whole exercise, taking place in an area where the Developers (kind of like Revenuers) are creating different habitats than what was there, reminded me of a book read long ago. It's Watership Down by Richard Adams. It is the story of several rabbits (and one in particular who foresees the destruction of the warren) and how they go through many adventures and hardships to find a new home...and that new home is a hill called Watership Down. This isn't a kids' book - it has some good scary bits in it, and some epic bunny battles. It's on my list of books that should be read in the October season - when the fog comes up, the days and nights are chilly...and things don't always feel safe. It's an epic novel that started out as a story Richard Adams made up for long car rides with his young daughters (but it's not a kids' book, right). One of those...tell us a story events (this used to happen somewhat more often in the pre-digital times) that called for spontaneously inventing a tale. As time and car trips went on, he would think about it and prepare a narrative for the next ride. Up until that time, Adams wasn't a writer. His daughters asked him to write the story down - and he did, and began to shop it around. Wild success only occurred when a lone publisher was willing to take a chance with an initial run of 2500 copies. Imagine that. A movie was made of the book - and might be a better choice for some rather than a 400 + page epic reading session....or you could listen to 15 hours worth while erging since it is also an audiobook.
The cool thing was that this Richard Adams fellow didn't start doing something that he was really good at until he was in his 50s. Not sure whether this should be in a "it's never too late" category or just that some stories take longer to develop than others...or don't give up on shopping your work...or just here's a cool story that perhaps you'll like, too. It was a true bunny trail of the mind.

44 Million Lifetime Meters
Whoop, whoop and what a bunch of meters! Congratulations, Ed, on achieving 44 million lifetime meters! We wish you many, MANY more!!
Who knew: Forty-four is a tribonacci number, and a palindrome!
The tribonacci numbers are like the Fibonacci numbers, but instead of starting with two predetermined terms, the sequence starts with three predetermined terms and each term afterwards is the sum of the preceding three terms. The first few tribonacci numbers are:
0, 0, 1, 1, 2, 4, 7, 13, 24, 44, 81,

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
I was on course to 200,000 meters for the Fall Team Challenge, but while running across the garage
to beat the door closing, I apparently pulled something in my knee. Nothing major and the advice from
the doc yesterday was to start rowing/cycling again and just keep an eye on things.
Sorry to have dropped the ball on the FTC, but it was pretty sore for a while. Rowed today and it felt
pretty good. Not many meters though.

It has been decades since I read Watership Down. A classic. Time to re-read it—or, perhaps listen while doing a longer relaxing row. Thanks for triggering a good recollection. Tom Rafter

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Richard Adams retired here to the Isle of Man, when I moved here 40 years ago he was a neighbour (but his house was much, much bigger!)
