Ha! As usual, danwho comes through with some sly humor! More pterodactyls ... although that one looks to have met its demise. Shoo fly pie - it's made with those little animal butts (molasses).

Ah...the cool of the morning....and thing one and thing 2 are busy chasing yard rabbits. And staring longingly up the trees at squirrels.
Safety tethers and stickers: you won't need these while erging....these are all about the bike...
I get a ton of bicycle-related emails, many touting Must Have new gear. In between the fancy frames, wheels and new electronics there are often some inexpensive and simple fixes to things that can pester you while riding (shoo flies not withstanding). Some of our state highways aren't the smoothest ride on a bike, and that bumpiness can bounce your water bottles right out of their cages (this can cause woe for those behind you)...and, in some less fortunate incidents, can bounce your bike Garmin (or similar) off its mount (once spent the better part of an hour helping a friend scour a hillside looking for a GPS that flew off the bike...coyotes in the nearby ravine I'm sure). Never fear, the water bottle incident I can own, but not the loss of electronic gear. Horrors. Still - I did not realize that there is now a safety tether available for some of your electronic bike gear. Pedal the Plains is notorious for use of chip seal roadways, those flat inducing, teeth jarring roadway rides filled with goathead stickers on the side of the road (but communities and a view you can't beat). The tether sounds just the ticket for some gear I'd rather not lose. Just passing along some info folks!
And similarly, sometimes the best solutions are simple. When I load more than one bike on my bike carrier, I often have to lower the seat on at least one of the bikes to get them to fit well on the carrier. After a few miscues of not marking saddle height with a line, then marking it only to discover you can't see the line after a few tries, a quick read of an article this AM says...the Tour de France support crew guys put a sticker to mark the saddle height desired. Who knew?!

You must be more careful. If they catch you, you'll never be able to sit down again.
(and your erging days will surely be over)

Next up....and SOON !
Summmmmr.....how fleeting! Speaking of fleeting, the neighborhood bunnies better be fleet of foot when Thing 1 and Thing 2 are out and about. I think Richard has the right idea of the view from Corky's perspective...I haven't yet hooked up a GoPro to a pup. I guess if you have a remote start on the thing...it could provide quite the scene as you rush through the tall grasses in search of cotton tails...or birds....or wait...that was just a piece of paper but IT LOOKED SO REAL and alive...coming soon to you...the less secret life of pets...

Is it true that aggregate lifetime meters don't qualify for milestone status--in particular 20,000,000?

Whoop, whoop and hooyah! Thomas R has a SPORTS bag prize headed his way! Congratulations on achieving a milestone, and joining an elite group of rowers who have met this milestone, Tombeur! We wish you many, MANY more milestones and celebrations! Well done!!
And as to the gentle prompt:
Tombeur wrote:

Surprisingly, it IS TRUE that some meters are more qualified as lifetime meters than others : on-the-water meters, for example, will count towards an annual meters tally - but NOT towards lifetime meters), they do all stack up together in the same meter piggy bank if they were ever listed as lifetime meters. Your last meter piggy bank deposit cleared the 20 million hurdles - and hooboy! That must have been an awesome moment to see the erg odometer dial flipping over to TWENTY plus!

Numbers were captured so late yesterday that there were often two-fers in there that would have normally been reported today. Ah normalcy....where are you?! My capacity to tolerate chaos must be diminishing....hahaha!
Have fun today whatever you do!
