Re: Forum Flyers
Welcome Cynthia - great start. there is a huge amount of information in the Training thread above for new arrivals (just search for Newbie)
Just did the CTC too - a bit like Rick as I am racing in NZ on Friday and it seems like a good 2k hit out.
did @1:41.4 which like Rick is about 2k -3 I suspect/hope - went well
Pushed the Boat up from 2nd to …...2nd!

Does it count any rest meters even? When I was rowing, ALL it counted was the work intervals as far as I could see. And I was averaging around 180 something per work interval, which, times 12 comes right around the distance I entered. I could get a screenshot of Ergdata, but I don't have an Imgur account.

Cynthia, your word is good as gold with me. Here’s a marked up screenshot of an ED result page which may help. Accumulated rest meters are recorded but not counted in the result.

The sad truth is that I slowed down so pitifully after each work interval, there wouldn't have been too many meters to count!jackarabit wrote: ↑February 4th, 2020, 12:51 amCynthia, your word is good as gold with me. I think I should not have gone quite so hard. Nerve pain has been worse since, though it might also be because of sitting on my butt too long watching the Super Bowl on Sunday. I rarely do that sort of thing, but I wanted to see the 49'ers play. Unfortunately, we didn't win.
I'll be more careful in the future because I want to keep rowing. And walking too.

Re: Forum Flyers
And many thanks for the screenshot!
I didn't know before I could see something like that in my logbook, but I went to check mine and clicked the little magnifier and neato! And I *do* have the correct distance entered for the Cross Team Challenge!
Overall distance including rest was 3814m. But the distance for the work was the 2188m I entered.
I will have to visit the logbook website more often! It showed an overall 2:44.5 pace, that's really good for me! My best ever 2K was a 2:54.9 before all the back troubles started. A recent 2K was 2:58.7.

(Hard to watch that fourth quarter! My wife stuck it out but I left to wash the dishes. 49ers got a touch of that female empowerment bug going round. Very contagious!)

Re: Forum Flyers
I'm still expecting to come last, but holding out hope that among the 122 others there might be a couple of chancers like myself. Looking at past 2 years' results there was definitely a much lower turnout and last place put in a time I won't beat. But at CRASH-B 2015-2017 there were a few above 8 minutes, so who knows.Yankeerunner wrote: ↑February 3rd, 2020, 11:41 amDoubtful. At least three guys have posted verified times some 15-22 seconds faster than me recently, and two others I know of who haven't posted times yet are very, very fast. Then there are 13 guys about whom I know nothing. I'll aim for an SB though, and anyone ahead of me who looks catchable I'll do my best to chase down.

Either way it will be an experience, and the main goal is to finish, preferably sub-8.
Good luck on Friday, Lindsay! Will look forward to reading your race reports for a bit of motivation.

I hope to make the C2 reception at the Hotel Mercure on Friday. I'll be arriving too late on Thursday for their get together on that day. I'll be at the Boulogne Residence Hotel on Rue de Long Pres. Hope to cross paths with you at some point.Slothful1 wrote: ↑February 5th, 2020, 1:03 am

Re: Forum Flyers
Only getting into Paris late on Friday afternoon, so we'll have to make that quick rendezvous work after Ewen's race.
Decided to skip my last session tonight given late work and packing priorities. It was only the 3x45" AN session for practicing starts, which I don't think is going to make much difference to my final time

Pic of our skipper in action at Paris. Had to rewind and squint to find him in the fugitive heat of the big 40-49 mhwt field run concurrent with the 40-49 flwt race. Got a screenshot of the “Waterbury Ice Scraper” also. Panning coverage of 70-75 mlwt much better than of Dave’s race.

I think it was just the three of us. I also did the 500m on Friday.
It was great meeting Rick and Dave in person, and "real" races definitely have a different feel than yanking on a chain in your garage.![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
