LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Scratch one off the bucket list . Ski-erged 42195 meters today starting off the new season. Flash drive recorded, shows all splits, etc, but not transferring onto log . Prefer to not load it manually for verification, so will try loading again later. Not planning on doing another ski-erg marathon but glad to check this one off. Slightly faster than anticipated (did 4:04, expected 4:10) and didn't have a sore butt at the finish! Will step back on erging distance to train for running goals. Also will still paddle on-water but current area flooding is crazy with rivers still going up.
Congrats to all Lunies on a successful 2016-17 rowing season!

Whoop, whoop and way to earn it! Bucket list items are really really important...and while you might not PLAN to do another ski-erg marathon....sometimes you are struck by marathon fever and you can do stranger things. Congratulations, Steve, on a fine start to the 2018 season and an awesome accomplishment. We wish you many, MANY more awesome times.
Very VERY few people have recorded a full marathon on a ski-erg. You are in quite an elite grouping. Well done!

It's ANOTHER FULL MARATHON! Hooyah!
Wow! The fever is really sweeping through the good ship Luna-Tic! Congratulations, Dennis, on achieving a FULL marathon! What a way to start the season! We wish you many, MANY more! I'd say you earned a few beverages with this effort!!

The Global Marathon Challenge is bringing out the beast in many teammates! Four Lunies have completed the full marathon (out of 48 total in the Erging Universe - that's an amazing percentage), and 1 has done a two-fer by completing both the full and the half. Here's our honor board:

Hooyah! We lifted from the spaceport and are continuing on our lunar journey with a crew of 28 to start the second day of the 2018 Erging Season! Always room for more teammates!
Many teammates using erging to get ready for other adventures and bucket list items. Hoping to see some photos of the Chester Yawl build in progress by The Blacksmith as he gets ready for the July 22 Blackburn Challenge, a 20 plus mile open water circumnavigation of Cape Ann. This will be his third Blackburn. The Chester Yawl kits yield some beautiful results...or perhaps we should credit the craftsmanship of the builders and the care they take! I thought 3 miles in a kayak in open water was tough - can't imagine 20+ miles.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Congrats to you Steve and also Dennis, and all who finished a full marathon a great accomplishment. Steve, you can manually enter your piece and get a verification code for it, if you, on the meter highlight your piece, then go to the right side arrow key that doesn't have have any up or down motion indicator next to it and click it twice, it will then give you a 16 digit verification code that you can enter in manually, then you can use that for ranking. I still have the pm3, I don't think it's different for other meters. I am having a similar problem in that my reformatted card won't load to my logbook, and I can't get my 1/2 from yesterday to upload, and I can't get the verification code to work because in the process of trying to get the card to load I updated the time, which was 10 min. off, therefore the time doesn't match the piece so it won't accept the verification code. Happy new erging year to all.Steve W wrote:Scratch one off the bucket list . Ski-erged 42195 meters today starting off the new season. I feel your pain! Between card reader failures, and reformatted cards that were willful in their ability to work or not work, I switched over to the Erg Data app ... and went ahead with the PM5. The connection kit for phone may be the least stressful resolution, but I would encourage you to call Concept2 and talk with their people about the issues. I found them to be quite helpful - although sometimes the answer wasn't the one I was hoping for in terms of fixing the issue. I have a PM3 monitor that works if anyone needs it. My primary issue was the card reader.dag1 wrote: Congrats to you Steve and also Dennis, and all who finished a full marathon a great accomplishment. There may be some end of year new year beginning issues and this is why there are some problems right now. I think I heard of this sort of thing last year too. C2 can let you know or run a fix on your account. Best not to mess around until you talk with them. I made that mistake a
while back.
I can't imagine a full moon on a skierg. Wow! Way to go to all that have their moons hanging for all to see.
Keep on rock'n

Not rowing, but added a new granddaughter a few hours before the end of the season.

Re: It's ANOTHER FULL MARATHON! Hooyah!
Thanks very much for the shout out! As for the beverages, it just so happens my good friend, Mick, is in town from Nottingham, England for a few days. He is the person responsible for taking the picture I use for my profile pic while we were attending the London Beer Festival a few years ago. Soooooo, I'm sure there will be a few tasty beverages in my immediate future.Kona2 wrote:

This just in, 42,195 meters is a lot of meters for one sitting! Sheesh! I don't know how some of my fellow Lunies row this distance with some regularity!
Also, my congratulations go out to Ed, Steve and Andrew for completing their marathons, or marathon and a half, as the case may be. And to David A for the addition of another grandchild!
