Since Kona2 mentioned The Boxcar Children - here they are on our Christmas Card picture (L to R - Anais, Akira, Orion, (Buddy the dog) Adian and Elias. And yes, that is Orion's boxcar. The actual author of the Boxcar Children was a teacher and lived in the town next to us - Putnam, CT. There is a Boxcar Children's Museum inside a boxcar in Putnam.
Wait... What... I thought Anais was like 4

Whoop, whoop and what a quick first MILLION! Don't forget to send in for your tee shirt and special pin from Concept2! Congratulations, Andrew, on achieving a ONE million meter erging season! We wish you many, MANY more!
Thanks! I thought tee shirts and pins were only for US and Canadian rowers, but the Australian web site seems to imply a tee shirt could be available. Now that I know there are are real prizes at stake, I'll try harder

More importantly, I might be confused by time zones, but shouldn't Ed's fabulous 50k effort have earned him the invaluable paddle to go with his canoe?

Love the pictures of snow and the igloo! Here it is 27 of our degrees (81 of yours), and will be rising into the nineties later... I row in a garage with no aircon, thank goodness for the C-breeze my sons gave me for Christmas!

The time zones and when Concept2 credits their list are mysteries to all of us. I use the individual contributor report that Concept2 generates, which at this morning's posting, showed Andrew as the lead canoe. This has changed with Ed's posting of 33,333 m...and he has indeed earned the valuable oar! We don't have a picture of Ed...so he gets a native caricature. The canoes are more manueverable for the 200K as well...

Ed

And, even more importantly (to Andrew!), we do have a picture of Andrew...so AJ has produced more magic. Thank you AJ ! Minnie is a good lobbyist.

Good grief ...barely got the 100K posted...and dang if Andrew hadn't crossed the 200K...good thing AJ gave me 200K graphic!

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 1.05.17

Post by Kona2 » January 6th, 2017, 11:05 am

Image Not sure if we really know how cold space is....some say it is - 475 Fahrenheit. I am reminded of this as the thermometer reads - 10 F this AM. Shiver me timbers.

Meanwhile, we have two canoes in the virtual waters of the Moon River...and both canoeists have earned their paddles. Talk about being on the edge of the bell curve. There will be a small tsunami as several other canoes hit the water later today (with 4 teammates closing in on 100 K...it's going to happen). In fact, it could happen before I even finish this posting given that I am MST and others are EST. Onwards!

We're still in 7th overall in our version of Star Wars, thanks to all who are participating with us!
