Miaow.
3'30" rest? Time for a lie down and a bite to eat.
Or am I supposed to go so balls-out so that that time is spent rolling around on the floor fighting for breath?

Its like a truncated Rugby challenge and plenty of rest time but nooo snacking! Will be hard at 100% (like all these things I guess)
Looks like MelG has stepped up overnight which is good - still one LWT short of boat 5

Outstanding in the rain
Way to step up Mel, Kathleen the guest , Reitze, and the usual suspects. We have a spare lady and gent in VI. Got to be a few more Flyers out there to push VI off the float.

IRL seem dead - have we ditched that?
(Sorry, I've been away, trying to get back on it - motivation is an issue )

Yes we were unable to get near a quorum of 8 for the IRL this year. Terry and I have become "Diamonds" just for the IRL this year.

Re: Forum Flyers
Just had a go for this month's CTC. Trust me you need the rest time, I found the hardest being the 750 and 250. Time 8min 9.9 . 3m22.1/2m27.3/1m35.3/45.2. I've got the national championships in 3 weeks so that is it for me this month.
Cheers

Re: Forum Flyers
All booked! I have organised a FFlyers southern hemisphere meeting in Cambridge Nov23. The great Shirley Godkin is coming as well as Allan and I will be there now. Erik says he may come to say hi if he is able. Looking forward - there are some very fine ergers of course - Eric Murray is likely to be there.

Re: Forum Flyers
Great stuff and not long now. Haven't raced for over 10 years so feeling like a bit of the unknown. Last 2k race was 2005/6. Keep telling myself, relax and that it sets the marker for future races and that the only pressure is coming from within.
See you there Lindsay

Re: Forum Flyers
I suspect that the last time you raced might have that short course "world championships" in Auckland in 2008(?) when I was on the next erg Allan in my first race but there was no 2k of course that day. From the training you have been doing I wouldn't be surprised if you nailed it big time. Nothing wrong with a bit of pressure from within of course - only way to do well I suspect. Looking forward to it as usual.allanhallberg wrote: ↑November 5th, 2019, 4:56 pmGreat stuff and not long now. Haven't raced for over 10 years so feeling like a bit of the unknown. Re: Forum Flyers
Forum Flyers meeting in Cambridge NZ yesterday
a bit of fun and a full day of racing tho not much direct competition
Allan Hallberg (60-64) was very strong 6:56/3:18/1:29 - I suspect he surprised himself a little
Shirley Godkin (70+) was great as you would expect from 2x world champ - 8:28/4:08/2:04
Mine was 7:10/3:24/1:35 - not full tilt but not unhappy

Re: Forum Flyers
Nice showings Al, Shirley and Lindsay! Face to face meetings at race venues are always some of the best indoor rowing experiences too.

Re: Forum Flyers
Nice going as always Lindsay, if a little off your usual best. I'm guessing it was enough to win on the day? 3:24 after a 2k is stunning....
Good to hear Shirley is still at it and doing well...we used to follow each others blogs on the old UK site - still miss that.
