Oh man, I was scared there for a moment. I thought it was a link to a song I wrote and posted on youtube. The singing is bad as I did it in a hurry for some friends of mine. It is a safe link though, not me singing. haha.

Hi all,
I needed a team to help keep me motivated through January, and started to look around but came across you Looneys early on, and could not skip a group that celebrates numbers the way you do, half my motivation is to keep going until the number on the PM3 is a 'special' one.
I just took up erging again, have a lot of kgs to work off and fitness to regain. I hope you don't mind me doing it with the LUNA-TICS.
Merry Christmas to All,
Andrew

And speaking of lights, the Winter Solstice is upon us. ...but did you know about Newgrange in County Meath, Ireland or Maeshowe in Scotland? In both Newgrange and Maeshowe, in the days surrounding the Winter Solstice the winter sun strikes a roof box (at least in Newgrange) and illuminates a passage into the tomb or cairn. Art imitates life?
We visited Newgrange before our Ireland hiking trip in June. Very cool! If you're not there during the Winter Solstice, they simulate the effect with lighting.

Hey Andrew, welcome and have a good time rowing with the Lunes. A great bunch here, fun, supportive and are always willing to offer up advice when needed. I know these wonderful folks have helped me reach goals I wouldn't have done without them.
Keep on rock'n

Welcome, Andrew! It's not often that a teammate achieves a fully blinged out reindeer as a "rookie"....but with over 600K in Holiday Challenge meters, you've gotten the reindeer named at 100K, the antler lights at 200K, the flashing harness at 300K, the tail wag (also know as the swagger) at 400K and the ear wag at 500K. Seems appropriate that this new reindeer who has zoomed up to such an achievement level from the get go, should get the reindeer name of Buzz Lightyear....and, in a strange, there are no coincidences moment...this reindeer Buzz is claimed by Andrew. I have twin nephews that are Buzz and Andrew....
Buzz Lightyear (Andrew)
And more reindeer bling! Congratulations to Louis, Dan O', Minnie and Greg on earning their Concept2 challenge pin, at least $6 in donations, and their antler lights!

Winter heralded in today here with balmy Chinook winds.....and with just FOUR days left to drop the Holiday Challenge meters into Concept2's donation bucket....the chances of a white Christmas might initially seem diminished. But wait! The NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) has a probability map for those dreaming of a white Christmas... and there is some debate amongst snow on Christmas aficionados as to whether that means snow on the ground or snow actually falling... https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/news/historic ... -christmas Historically, Denver has a 14% chance of snow actually falling and 38% chance that snow will be on the ground...I'm betting that my reindeer will be enjoying some falling snow!
Overall, there is less than $5K in meter generated donations remaining to achieve the Concept2 goal. Excitement builds in the charitable foundations who are to be the recipients!

Welcome Shabana. I see from your total holiday meters you are not wasting any time getting back into shape. You have picked the right affiliation. You will not find an equally or more imaginative and fun loving group to take some of the sting out of rowing all these meters--a task, it should be remembered, the Romans relegated to prisoners.

Thank you all for your kind welcome. The holiday challenge has been an extra special effort on my part, at the start my goal was to row around 10k every second day, but somehow that has escalated a little out of control. I hope to find a happy, sustainable medium next year, my b**t hurts so much!

45 Lunie Reindeer !
With less than 72 hours (more dramatic sounding than 3 days) to go, reindeer are stomping to get a move on....and you better, too, if you're going to light the way and join the herd! Tick tock tick tock! And while that's not the crocodile we hear, it is true that time is being eaten away!
Meanwhile....trying to find some of the
presents that I have stashed away throughout the last couple of months is proving to be difficult. Yikes...
Today's new reindeer are:
