Lisa,

I've posted the link below: but to clarify how to find this, if you look up at the top of the page here, we're in the forum index and it says > Teams (Concept2 Forum Forum Index -> Teams) If you click on teams, you'll see a segment of the index that says "Thanks for the emails" or something like that. That's Tom's posting. He just posted as a separate topic under the teams segment. I should have put the link there in the first place - sorry!

half marathon

Post by Calamity » February 28th, 2008, 10:54 pm

I was on your team for JVC and may join it again for the March team challenge. I completed my first half marathon then and did my second today, beating my score by three minutes, 91 min 2.8 secs and now top verified rank in my age group. Yes, am bragging. This is all to say that I think the 200,000 meters a month for Dec and Feb really helps to build the base for these kind of distances. If you are still trying for longer distances, know that it can be done with persistence. I did find that a little sports drink, I used Cylomax, helped to keep energy up. The first time I used just water.

Tom's new "exercise machine"

Post by kgallagher » February 28th, 2008, 11:10 pm

Oh my! I just checked out Tom's new exercise machine and it is way cuter than an erg. Tom posted this on the team site. I figured I'd attach the link here for others to see in case you missed his posting.

Hey, Jane,

Good to see you again. If you want to be on our team for the challenge, don't forget to edit your profile to have LUNA-TICS be your team affiliation. Otherwise your meters won't be added in our count. This team challenge differs from the others in that way.

Way to go on the half marathons!

Way to go Jane! Half-marathon!

Excellent news Jane! I remember when you did your first half marathon, and to improve by 3 minutes - wow! At 91 minutes I think I'm still in the 16K range! It would be great to have you as a team member again!

March Madness - basketball and rowing and....biking?

Dan - shhhh! It's a secret - I'm sneaking up on people! Need to get my million in before the year is out (I've never had a million meter season - and can credit this team for helping me stay so engaged in the pursuit of that million!)

Row well everyone - do something fun for leap year!

All In A Day's ERG: Team Stats for 2.28.08

Post by Kona2 » February 29th, 2008, 10:52 am

Be stellar on your lunar mission today - it's a day that won't be repeated!
(At least a date that won't occur for 4 years!)

Total team meters on the season = 30,336,178 m

Team meters for 2.28.08 = 97,884 m
22 percent of our oars were in the virtual waters yesterday.

Milestones:

None specific today although note taken that lunar mission pilots have quickened the pace towards their goals! Canoes demonstrating great maneuverability through the fleet.

Lotsa Meters:

15,293 m Barb G (training for that little race in Boston)
12,787 m Dan C
12,241 m Darryl B

Tomorrow, we encounter the first shamrocks ! Row steady!

Looking forward to March and the Madness - this team has helped me so much during this past month. The care and concern that so many have shown me really proves we are a TEAM!

My goal for the March Madness is the sum total of the 5 most common tax returns I file (1040+1041+1065+1120+1120S = 5386)

IRS = Interior Rowing System?

"Canoes demonstrating great maneuverability through the fleet."

Hey Kona2! Are you a canoeist also? There is nothing finer than paddling hard and carving graceful turns as you pass by other boats. You can just feel the paddling rhythm, the strength in your stroke, and the canoe's glide; and its pretty much like the rhythm of rowing on a C2. Darryl B

Did you ever notice that "the" and "IRS" = "theirs" ...

March Madness

Post by Toothdoc » February 29th, 2008, 5:33 pm

Tenhut!!

Alright all you Luna-tics it's time to get your boat tuned up and in the water. 7Hr 36 Min until warp drive will be engaged. It seems like a light year has passed since our last challenge.

I want 99% of the boats in the water tomorrow. No whining recruit, DO YOU HEAR ME? There will be an inspection at 00:01 AM.

Out: Capt. Kirk aka Dan C

Will make it so, Number One! Me, I've been tapering all week and am now ready for the Fighting Irish, or the Klingons. (Went to a concert of the Scots Dragoon Guards and the Coldstream Guards last night ... nothing like bagpipes for 2+ hours to make one combat ready.)

That's the proper attitude for a moon chaser.
