He's A Meter Millionaire !!

Whoop, whoop and way to finish the calendar year! Congratulations, Ken G, on achieving a ONE million meter 2016 erging season! At the rate you've been rowing, there's enough time to get to multi-millionaire meter status before the end of the season...should you choose to accept that challenge! We wish you many, MANY more millions and continued success in the coming calendar year!

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 12.30.15

Post by Kona2 » December 31st, 2015, 11:51 am

THIS IS IT....the last day of the calendar year....start listening for that great whooshing sound that the erg wheel makes as we crossover to 2016 (and the erging season and calendar year actually match!). Got ahead of myself yesterday...there can be no whoosh for end of year and month until it is time....get your virtual drink orders in for our Guinan (aka Jane) who will be serving them up later today!

And, however you celebrate the New Year, be safe!

MILESTONES....Bragging Rights...Celebrations:

4.2 MM bg
2.6 MM Tombeur
1.6 MM Doug G
1.0 MM Ken G
400 K Howard

Thanks, everyone, for rowing and ski-erging with us!

Tony ImageImageImageImage m...another golden palindrome!
Bobbie ImageImageImageImage m...a starry palindrome!
Ian B 5,039 m
Image ImageImageImageImage m...a palindrome !
Teresa R ImageImageImageImage m ...a snowy palindrome!
Tom M 6,909 m
William H 7,379 m
TammyImageImageImageImage m ...a lucky snowy palindrome!
David T 8,000 m
Tombeur 8,128 m
Roger ImageImageImageImage m ..a palindrome!
K2 10,000 m...and it was a pb too
Howard 10,125 m
David A 10,149 m
Steve W 10,365 m ....starting to see the meter millionaire celebration banner at the end of the tunnel....
Jeff M 11,037 m
Stuart ImageImageImageImageImage m ...onesies! A palindrome!
Jay ImageImageImageImageImage m ...a starry palindrome!
Paul B 14,613 m
Doug G 17,170 m
Ron ImageImageImageImageImage m ...a palindrome from our man in Vermont!
Stefan 22,173 m
Ed ImageImageImageImageImage m ...a starry palindrome!
Ken G 40,000 m
bg 61,978 m ...yay! She is aligned with Concept2 once again!

And, as we ponder our New Year's revolutions, here is some wisdom from H Jackson Brown, the man who wrote "Life's Little Instruction Book" among other things:

Persistence, persistence, persistence

Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated

Commit yourself to constant improvement

Don't do anything that wouldn't make your Mom proud....

Happy New Year everyone...I'll be raising my glass of champagne to you !

Kristine there is sweet and sweets and then there is you. What a nice offer. The offer is treat enough. Thank you very much.

Nice to hear K2 back in the game you are always missed.
Ed, you remain my hero. Amazing with the 6 mill. Wow!
Ken G, very good, yet another hero. Keep on rock'n man. Good things happen. Meters, health and pretty much keeps one out of trouble too. I don't have quite as much problem in that area as I once did. Age I guess. Grin.
I will miss the first 4 or 5 days of the VTC but never fear the thor is here and will be joining you wonderful people. I mean really, how can rock and row go on without me? I used to play the drums and still play my guitars now and then. Hmm, played piano way back then too. I also sing but not that well. It doesn't slow me down though. So Anyone wanna be a part of the virtual band? I play rhythm guitar and sing. Mostly country rock style of music. There is a song I wrote and recorded on youtube back a few years. The singing is not good. but I think the song is nice. It was done in a hurry as some friends were nagging at me to post it. I haven't really gotten back to record since then. Have to write some more in the new year. It's all fun and games. Oh, just search for Michael Winegarden in youtube and you may find it. I think that song was called Come On Over.
Happy meters all.

Adding my congratulations to Ed and Ken !!!

I think I found Thor's alter-ego on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2518J8C-iE

Happy New Year, everybody.

Okay, better get in a row before Guinan starts mixing. Don't want to be drinking from a camelbak.

Thank you Dan. That's the link. I don't know I could have figured that out. Grin.
BG you bet, everything counts for the musical meter quest. Maybe I should rewrite it. Not Come On Over, maybe Keep On Rowing? Hmm.
Have fun.

Guinan here - the drinks are mixed and within reach of your rower - mudslide(on the slide), black and tan, champagne, champagne and more champagne, a long island ice tea and and KGB coffee. Of course the rower is heating up with a Bohemian style absinithe whilst mixing a banana drink of sorts. Guinan really is now fascinated with absinthe and must locate the non-synthanol version of it. As for the hot fudge sunday and brownies - the five off-spring that claim relation to me have chowed them down. To the replicators! Live long and prosper Leonard Nemoy! And to all a happy and health 2016.

Aaargh, that Champagne's really good, Guinan. We're getting a bit of an early start, here on the West Coast, and I've already heard "Happy New Year" from friends and relatives in Australia. Buying into the absinthe theme, we honored AJ's New Orleans roots, and enjoyed a Sazarec, prior to the bubbly. Bring it, 2016! So many things to look forward to. Wishing you all a fantastic year! Cheers.
