He simply does not hold back, thats a “normal” 100% effort for a guy his level.

yes and we are really lucky that he is willing to do the "normal" stuff in public - not many will I suspect.

Indeed, nice to see. Don,t think hiding will help anyone, its nice for the public to see what the very best can do, are willing to do and show that.

Also nice that anybody can join the ctc and “compete” against the worldchamp.

Gave it a try myself.

First skierg 141.3 41.8 41.4 40.8

Row after. Will try to a serious one this month. Now was 138.8 138.4 and 145.2 last one was a bonus rep go get a result in.
Serious work for me. Relative speaking my fitness does not match strenght atm.

I would like to to see his 2k stroke broken down to % contribution for legs, back, arms. Bet that upper body swimmer muscle isn’t going to waste.

Think we all use relative a good bit of Its certainly not all legs.

He has a solid technique and good feel for the movement. Already in his first year otw he got a medal otw in the skiff. He certainly does not just muscle the erg to submission.

….and here was I thinking your 3 @2:07 were pretty good Jack - coulda/shoulda been doesn't really cut it with we old guys on the decline. 2 years is a long time.

Managed to get Mel here in Sydney to do a pretty strong ctc to add to Dirk's strong one too - Liz sent hers to Mel to challenge her to do it.

I waited until after the current ctc thrash to look up my average from Pete Plan days. Knew I’d be spooked if I saw it. I’m gonna try not to drown in self pity.

Jack you inspired me to go back and find my PP 4x 1k/5R from September 2016 which was @1:41/42/42/43 which is described as "ugly" at the time but about 2k pace then as I prepared for Boston.
Terry and I had a go tonite mine averaged @1:42.7 (1:43/42/41) - claiming bragging rights for sure - maybe my 2k is closer to 6:55 than I think
Terry was @1:52.8 which was pleasing for him as sub7 pace as well.
3 boats floated now which is good
