Welcome to the Team, Donna! Hope you will join us here in the Team Room with some chit chat!

Doctor Dan, that is an amazing accomplishment all around. You really look good for 138. Is it the space travel that adds the years like that? Or is it the LUNA-CY in the Team Room?

I'm so proud of everyone on this team making it what it is, and the great encouragement it has been for everyone to be a part of it, whatever our various goals may be. It was in gearing up for the 2007 Holiday Challenge that the LUNA-TICS really launched into space with never before utilized forum participation.

Great idea on the pumpkin carving...I wasn't going to bother with carving any pumpkins this year, but now I gotta get one, and give it a try. This is worth some artistic effort.

Kapt. K,

I think it's a tear in the Space-Time Continuum caused by knuckle draggers like me going berserk on their ergs.

Doldrums, Pirates, and a Skeleton Crew Challenge

Post by TedCG » October 26th, 2008, 10:45 pm

Ahoy, Lunatics,
We've beaten our way past of the FRC, drifted through the Doldrums, and now we must row clear of the Skeleton Crew.
But anything worth doing is worth doing to excess; if 31K is good, 62 is better!
Yo-Ho, my hearties, let's double down on the Skeleton Crew! It will stand us all in good stead when we round up against the Holiday Challenge.
Slow and Steady is my pace, so it seems,
Slow and Steady wins the race, in my dreams.

I can't access the Skeleton Crew honor board....I know that Dan has completed at least one 31K.....and am sure that many others have done so by now. Anyone else having difficulties with access?

The link to download the certificate is up, but the honor board isn't working yet. Dan probably fried it by finishing too quickly ... tsk.

I rowed three times on Friday, twice on Saturday and once on Sunday. The most I rowed at on time was 15K.

By the way, how close are we to the moon? My wife just noticed that I have not been around for some time and she wants to know when I will be back.

Navy's newest ship

It might be best if pirates lay low for a while. If you were a pirate, I don't think you could outrun this arm of the law. Not a chance!

Outrun Freedom?

Post by Kona2 » October 27th, 2008, 7:43 pm

Interesting thought.....would pirates want to outrun Freedom?!! Cool link Darryl - the most inland port of Duluth gets some big ships!

Tony - I will look up our current total meters....seems like I have to add in the total that was produced in the FRC as well....will report back later today.

ImageImage We have TWELVE crew members on the Skeleton Honor Board....shake....rattle....and row! Great job!

Great, thanks Jan!
I was wondering the other day how far we got (and I guess the same is true for the other 26 who think we can do it together ;)).
I think that the FRC meters are included in our current meters on the logbooks, as reported on the team roster.

It looks like the Skeleton Honor Board is picking up numbers prior to Oct 25.
As much as I like being listed ;), my current meters total (w/o whatever I will be able to row tonight) is 24,482, not 62,124...

Welcome Donna! Great to have you on the team!
Welcome back Barbara and Gina! Take good care to avoid further issues. Same for all of us...

Happy rowing!

Andrea

Andrea
... I noticed that my Skeleton meters have included October 17 to present ... a week here, a week there ... a slight blip in the greater cosmos.

To The Moon

Post by Kona2 » October 27th, 2008, 10:40 pm

Here's an update of our current distance to the moon (with a big thanks to Chris for her artwork of the Luna-Tic moon). I think it is safe to say that ours will be a long journey, although we have progressed 30 MM just since May 1st of this year!

I'm looking for my list of projected year end outcomes!

Does this home built 4 foot high light sculpture made from plywood and three strings of mini lights count toward the team assignment? It was (sort of) carved out with a saber saw...
