Re: All In a day's erg: Team Progress Thru 10.09.08
No, I have had a smattering of other distances, but since you made me look, I discovered that I have only been on the rower 16 times this rowing year.HM Kapn Kristine (pretty sure that all your meters entered this year have either been of the half or full marathon variety - can you confirm?)
The running marathon today was brutally cold. My water hose was frozen solid for the first 3 hours of the race. My eyeballs felt like they were starting to solidify. It was 22 degrees F. when I left my house, so am guessing it was between 28 and 30 degrees F. at the start of the race. The course was in a lot of shade, so even when the sun came up it didn't do much to warm things up until around 10 a.m. This marathon is fairly small, and ends at a local Irish Pub where everyone can rest and recover a bit indoors. A fun atmosphere which kind of keeps everyone together for the awards.
So, now that my running season is done until next May I should be getting back into regular rowing (after some recovery time)

Congratulations Lilia and Peter! A toast to the newlyweds with a frosty mug of Uff Da beer.
Wow Kristine, that sounds more like a "freeze your gizzard" type run! I guess I won't complain about our 40F to 50F temps so much. Congrats on the marathon!
Even though Duluth wasn't as cold as Kristine's area over the weekend, the weather still sucked. Cool, windy, foggy, and drizzly weather trying to blow down all the golden leaves. So it was a weekend for inside projects and activities. After working the puzzles in my Black Belt Sudoku Book for over 2 years, I finally got the last one done (number 300) over the weekend! Anyone have a recommendation of a paperback with really hard Sudoku puzzles? I'm going for my Sudoku Jedi Masters.....

Re: Monday
I don't know if it would appeal to a Jedi Master apprentice, but there is a fine sudoku site online that we used to use, with a wide range from "easy" to "you'll never do this one" ... I think it was www.sudoku.com (I can't access it from here) ... I'll check tonight.DuluthMoose wrote: Anyone have a recommendation of a paperback with really hard Sudoku puzzles? Re: chocolate cake
I have made a matza-like cracker from bean flour. I used a pasta recipe and baked it. It's not truely "matza" since it does not have any of the 5 grains, but if you are looking for a replacement, it works; http://allergygrocer.com/id412.html but the recipe should say 'greased' not 'engrossed' cookie sheet.

'Engrossed'
Unfortunately since I'm not Sefardi that doesn't help on Pesach itself, but it looks interesting.
