Welcome back, Baz!! Like some others on the team, I've been following your blog, so you've never been very far away. Still, it's nice to have you back here. So... how was your date with the shed at silly o'clock?

Thanks Dan...

Not too bad, I like that time of the day, sun was rising on the eastern horizon...sweat rolling down the face. Just need a solid 2-3 weeks to get back into the swing of it and make it "habit".

Cheers, Baz

Just so I don't lose anyone in my silliness, I have been filling in for K2 for a few days during her "Pedal the Plains" bicycle tour. And now I am ready to hand back the keys, and hear all about her adventure.

I forgot that spirits are most active at night. While we were sleeping, the Free Spirits team caught us in the Fall Team Challenge. Now it's our turn...
Outstanding efforts by everyone. Keep up the good work and ...

Dig deep, me hearties.

Welcome back, Baz!!

Back in the erg saddle again...

Post by Kona2 » September 21st, 2015, 3:44 pm

I will be providing you an update on my adventure soonest. Suffice to say, I rode the whole thing...and learned many things. I also got a strange forehead sun tan from the vents on my bike helmet. I must admit, when wearing a hat I don't put any sunscreen on my forehead because when you sweat...it gets in your eyes and burns like the proverbial fires of Hell (or so I imagine). So. I returned tired, happy to have finished without taking a sag wagon or getting a flat tire, albeit with a crazy tan. The First Class designation on the finisher's medal is related to the fact that Julesburg, the start and finish of our three days was the only site in Colorado to have a Pony Express mail station.

Thanks guys. Welcome back K2. Can't wait to hear some stories. Dan great job and you gave me some chuckles. Can't ask for more than that.
Finally got my new PM5 today and some seat pads. I'm not sure if the PM5 will do much for the blisters but here's hoping the pads do. I see there's cut outs that can be removed from the pads. I think I might leave them in for now and see how it goes. I got myself 2 pads while I was at it. Well that and I was told to right Uncle Do Ron Ron and others? I will start with one. Suggestions are welcome.
Do Ron Ron, wow man! The dude is putting out the metres.
Have fun all and keep it up.

Welcome back K2, I know you must have had a great time. Familiar with tan spots, being almost bald, the vents on helmets leave interesting patterns.
Thanks Dan for the awesome job keeping stats, lots of good humour (wish I had a cone right now) .Kona, you left it in good hands as always, Ron was also great.
Welcome back Baz, glad to see you on roster again.

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 9.21.15

Post by Kona2 » September 22nd, 2015, 11:55 am

Image Hooboy! Fall officially begins at 4:21 AM ET tomorrow...with the arrival of the autumnal equinox...

Yep, for those who love a balanced life, tomorrow will appeal to you with its equal (almost) parts of day and night, and then we slide into the dark side (except for our Southern Hemisphere teammates). Full moon happens on September 27th in conjunction with a total lunar eclipse.....since the 27th is on a weekend day, perhaps some opportunities to throw downs some lunar variations of our own?

Lunies and Free Spirits keep flirting with third place...but don't count Greenville out! We're one week into a four week Challenge, and there's a LOT of opportunity for everyone to enjoy some good competition during the pumpkin season. All those seasonal Images that await !

Thanks to danwho for all the fun new graphics, pulling the stats together, a little twisted humor that I know I appreciate, and all the teammates who've kept us moving forward with meters and commentary! Great to see so many milestones continuing...and have you noticed how MANY people are signed on as active Concept2 members? It's over 22K, a number that we surely didn't see until at least the Holiday Challenge last year. I tell you, this erging is catching on! Great time to ask your local gym to order another machine!

Season meters as of 144/365 = 55,832,525 m

Total meters on the day = 610,768 m

The addition of 12,533 meters I rowed today brings my rowing total to 12,001,834 meters since April 16, 2012, the day I assembled and started using this machine. Adding the 1,448,942 Meters logged on my Concept2 Skier makes for a combined total of 13,450,776. Whether or not a "Milestone," indisputably a lot of work. As in all life, the issue is subjective and a matter of judgment: Have the benefits been worth the effort? Most definitely yes, in my view. I suspect others on this Forum would have reached a similar conclusion for themselves. Tom Rafter

or, in combined erg divisions:

Whoop, whoop and hooyah for Tombeur (and what an interesting definition Tombeur has)! While we do have teammates who use both erg machines, I can't see the difference in rowing vs ski-erg meters on our logbooks - so it is helpful that you've called out what is an important meter milestone. That's a lotta meters for three years! Congratulations on a fine achievement! We wish you many, MANY more!
