Martin, welcome! We have few rules but we do have a dream list of stuff we need for team success on the CTC. High on that list are women and lightweight men because boats don’t float without them. So it’s always a BYOW party at FF. Got a lady or lightwt friend with an erg in her or his fitness plan or fitness future? Encourage them to join you. :D
Hi jackarabit,
I'm erging at home so I only have my wife, maybe I can convince her to start erging, but that's not easy  and dropping 60lb to be lightweight is no opinion I'm afraid
Welcome Martin

That lightweight idea seems indeed a bit over the top. You might like this months one, suits the more sprinty types.

the only other thing Martin is that when you go to CTC to join don't be put off by the process. Enter details and then it will say wrong password but just go to the list and it will be there and just re-enter the details and you are in!

best of luck martin! Mine was just at or under 2k pace which seems to be the approximate consensus.
Our numbers are not too far apart (although not for long and heading in different directions!!) and you are clearly a sprinty type of guy too.
Did the 666s at 1:43 and the 333s at 1:40/1 and tried the rests as 1:30/1/1:30/1/2/2/1:30 but all at 1:30 probably the same outcome

Thanks Lindsay! I won't match your pace as you're much stronger at longer distances. You're right, by now I'm the sprinty type, but working hard to change that :-) . My plan is 1:44/5 for 666s and 1:41/2 for 333s with 1:30 rests for all which is a bit slower than my 8x500m/1.30R pace.

Not touched it myself, but see others mostly a good bit below 2k pace. But for that you need to know your current 2k

:-) My last 2k TT was 2 months ago and wasn't paced nor prepared very well, so I think 6:50 is possible by now. But due to my lack of aerobic capacity my interval times were always slower than expected. Maybe I can push my overall pace a bit lower with a nice sprint at the end

Go for 6 solid reps, dig deeper on the 7th, and the last 333 is only one minute. Think you will surprice yourself. And given your 1k 2k really will be faster.

Could be henry but there are no entries sub 1:30 yet even from the guys at the top who are likely around 6:00 or under for their 2ks?
I thought that 8x 500m/1:30R would be around or maybe a little faster than 2k and my recent 6:59 TT isn't too far from the mark for me - thus the CTC @1:43.5 was close to max as well. But we will all be different of course.

Martin I am pretty sure you are faster than me on this (and mostly everything!). That 1k to me means that you are close to 6:50 even without the fitness yet so wouldn't be surprised if you nail a fast one - do a good one that you can finish and then have another go.
