Thanks Jan. How was the bike ride? Do you have anything left for the FRC? They just turned on the link in the Logbook under teams.

Since the pain on the left side of my ribcage isn't going away as fast as I'd like it to, I did more internet research last night. From what I can tell, I've either bruised my ribs or pulled the muscles that go across them. In either case, rest seems to be the only solution. Drat! It seems that the FRC will proceed with out me. I need to lay off until I can move pain free.

Rest, heat, ice and ibuprophen seem to be the only things to do.

Cycle Oregon

Post by Kona2 » September 15th, 2008, 2:48 pm

For those who might be interested, I'm posting a link to the Cycle Oregon photos I took below:

http://good-times.webshots.com/album/56 ... good-times

Just click the link, then when you're in the webshots folder, select slideshow from the yellow box to the right (66 photos - lots of hay!)

A couple of comments:

There were two accidents that required more than a bandaid on the ride. The first was a cow - bicyclist collision. It's open range and a cow ran out in front of a cyclist. The cow and cyclist are both okay, but it resulted in a new nickname for the biker: T-Bone. And there are a couple of slides of what the bike mechanics did to decorate the bike .....

It was a great ride! Good weather every day! I am ready to row - maybe stay out of the sun for a few days....

Enjoyed the pics thanks. Wasn't it difficult riding and taking pictures at the same time?

Thanks to all the team members who read my housekeeping post, and got yourself signed on to our Challenge Team so quickly!

We still have 5 teammates who are not on the challenge team, and I have just sent them a private email in case they do not read the forum.

And a big welcome to new team mates Jeanne and Andrea! Hope to see you posting here, too!

I changed my profile photo to our LUNA-TICS logo for the duration of the FRC, so anyone clicking our team link will see it. The one drawback to that is C2 does not have a way for team captains to post a separate team photo, so this same logo shows up as my profile picture on our year-round team page, too. Let's hope I get selected as the Rower of the Day so we can show off our great logo to the whole world! :D

Looks like the team is off to a fine start for the fall challenge! I'll be back to stats on Friday, Chris! And you are doing a fine job with the stats, celebrations and commentary - as did Darryl! Thank you both!

Woohoo, Dan! EIGHT million meters! Congratulations to all milestone achievers!

Welcome to all the new team members and the challenge team members!

CONGRATULATIONS DAN!
And best wishes of health to Gina and Barbara!
Jan: enjoyed the pictures, you will get us biking too...
AJ, I see that you are a fellow "pre-midnight" rower. My meters are usually from the previous day when Chris posts, as I seldom get to row before 10:00 p.m... ;)
Glad to see that Mary H is posting again. Welcome back!
Many thanks to Chris and Darryl for taking care of the stats while Jan is away!

Happy rowing!

Andrea, you are definitely not alone in your rowing habits ... there's a lot of activity going on around 10 pm when I'm looking at the numbers. We left-coasters seem to be a late night crowd ... and many on the "other side" are either insomniacs, or up way too early! (Or, perhaps, simply posting the meters before shutting down the computer.)

Whatever works!
Chris
