It didn't occur to me to set the alarm ... I just knew I could stay awake and soldier through the wee hours. Too bad the couch was so comfy, and my dog was also rabbit-chasing in her dreams. Remind me, in April ... a.l.a.r.m. c.l.o.c.k! (Insert "duh" right here.)

Whoa....just saw a RED motorcycle scoot across the team profile page! Welcome back to Howard L for the 2015 Concept2 Erg Season!

Image And then there were 7 days left...

We're making steady progress with the Lunie Fall Challenge Team - although team 9 is nipping at our erg heels. I do think we should try to preserve the meaningful number 8 spot !

Thanks, everyone, for rowing and ski-erging with our Fall Challenge Team! We have several folks who row with us every challenge, and yet are affiliated with other groups. It is always good to see your names!

Had a quick note of good news from Ron yesterday:

"hi k2

very good news from the dr. visit today. i have good blood flow to all the injured fingers and the skin grafts have adhered well. i now have a custom molded plastic splint which is much lighter and more comfortable.

i go back in about a month to have the pin removed from the little finger and begin pt. the pt may take 2 to 3 months. it may take a while, but like macarthur, "i shall return".

thanks for all your support."

And, lastly for today (I think), I have been listening to The Boys In The Boat on audiobook while I row. This is the story of the University of Washington Rowing Team and their quest for the Gold Medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Since I have not rowed a lot, it's taking a bit of time to get through what is a very compelling story. It's awesome!

I know some of you have been busy splitting, chopping, and stacking cords of wood...ready to fire up that woodstove (if you haven't already). And some of us are headed out to put on new tires to handle what will surely be a snowier time this season (if we are to believe the woolly caterpillars). Get ready....the seasons are a changing!

Fellow Lunie Tina Jacky is Rower of the Day! She usually starts posting around the Holiday Challenge!

Meanwhile, there's a FULL moon rising over Qatar (Cutter), and a full moon rising over Massachusetts. Danno posts back to back half marathons....must be that he's over the moon now that the third grandbaby is here. Good stuff by all !

It's been a different kind of team challenge for me - and perhaps for some of you as well. There are many distractions that can get in the way of taking time to row...and I definitely feel the need to get back on the erg. It puts a solid piece of structure into one's day.
