Well, rats! I wrote up yesterday's stats and didn't get them posted...and do not have my notebook with me. I do know that we had at least a couple of folks (Richard T and Joe) who put a spin on the 9119 palindrome, and we welcomed Sharon. I see that we also have a returning teammate, Robby! Welcome and welcome back to those who are new to us and those who are returning. Here's wishing you many good rowing sessions (and/or ski-erging), and much good camaraderie.

bg is putting in a ton of meters for someone who is also really ramping up her running kilometers! I couldn't believe it when I saw that she has run a 50K....we know this to be MORE THAN a FULL MOON....thus it must be the runner's version of the SUPER MOON! She is, of course, getting ready for what must be the 9th or 10th Fluff Festival that Somerville hosts.

Meanwhile, it's not EVEN fall quite yet and it snowed this morning in Denver. One of the earliest snows on record...even though it was just a sprinkle here and there. It was still 33 degrees, as compared to 99 in Tucson. Good rowing weather either way.

Season meters as of 134/365 = 31,321,681 m

Total meters on the day = 215,409 m

Ah - a blue sky day, my favorite kind! Hope everyone is ready ready READY for the Fall Team Challenge, which starts on Monday. The leaves they are a changing, for sure. And if the wind keeps up, well....they'll be all over the yards in no time. Minnie has set forth her Challenge goal. I think I'll be aiming for 150 K or so, but we'll see how it goes. I know I will miss the first couple of days of the Challenge, but will endeavor to play catch up. There are no specific requirements for how much you can contribute - this is all about you as part of the Challenge Team. Do what you can, when you can !

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 9.13.14

Post by Kona2 » September 14th, 2014, 12:50 pm

Hello to Sarah H., a teammate popping in with the 2015 Concept2 erg season!

Image Let the ERG winds start blowing.....tomorrow !!

Image Devil's claw

The wind is blowing here in the Old Pueblo, with a devil's claw (instead of leaves) skittering across the patio bricks. It's an east wind, the kind that blew in Mary Poppins of nanny fame (or maybe it was just Julie Andrews fame). Of course, this started a bunny trail of the folk art of weathervanes. Bicycling through rural areas, especially during pumpkin season, gives lots of opportunity to check out the landscape and its structures. Hadn't ever seen a weathervane about rowers, but they do make them!

Total meters on the day = 500,905 m

When I read this, my bunny trail went a little subterranean.

. . . . Stepped on a devil's claw
. . . . Now I got a sore paw

. . . . Look out kid
. . . . It's somethin' you did

. . . . You don't need a weathervane
. . . . to know which way the wind blows

Image Image

And also want to add my welcomes and welcome backs and Go Lunies ...
About the restful pose of the Moon Goddess in that weathervane - afraid that will have to wait until Oct 15.

Green is my favorite color too!

I started school again in August, so my rowing has been pretty spotty. I just had my first exam, and I'm hoping that the Fall Challenge will give me the motivation to get back to rowing more regularly. (My goal is 150,000 meters)

Go Luna-tics!
