Sorry havent posted lately, depression taking a commanding lead, but rally hat is on. Or was till yesterday. I got hit by a car in the walmart parking lot in a crosswalk. Just very colorful bruises in areas not scene unless I wear a speedo. Could pass for rainbow shorts though.
Thank you to all our veterans and active duty members for your service and sacrifices for all of us.
I knew Walmart was dangerous. Hope there are no long term ill effects from the accident!

"They" say that horse racing folks are superstitious, and there's probably no time of greater superstition than before a race that will determine whether or not California Chrome becomes the first horse since 1978 to win the Triple Crown. A remarkably ugly opossum (rodent) joined all the horses out for exercise at Belmont yesterday. I did not know that opossums were that fast. I must confess that I have gathered my opossum speed assessment data based on road kill percentages, though, so perhaps this is not fair. The opossum was in the running groove and apparently wove in and out of racing with all the horses, but seemed to want to run with California Chrome the most. This might be a concern since top speed of an opossum is reported to be anywhere from 4 to 7 to 15 mph. Hopefully this was a cool down walk for CC. Secondly, a cat with coloring similar to California Chrome stopped by to watch the horse being bathed, then ran in front of the horse as it was being led back to its barn. Some say that this is a good omen. Animal kingdom is checking out CC. I have posted the link to this story below for your reading pleasure and a few guffaws.

Jim,
Some people take the responsibility of operating vehicle WAY too lightly. Glad to hear that you weren't injured too badly.

Jan,
Love the pics of you dog's paws!

Looks like Dan W was on the mark with his idea that the possum babies were cheering on their mom....here I thought the opossum was running with the horses, and now I think it must have been marveling that the horse only had one jockey....
