Great time by Mr. Woodley in boat 2! Dispatched that chore in a hurry, Graham.
Thanks Jack, I must admit, I only glanced at the positions after I submitted my entry and was mildly surprised to see myself afloat, an unfamiliar position for me. I put it down to a possibly lack of entries by the hares but nevertheless felt proud of my achievement.

Some time later, after the intervention of a little birdy and on closer scrutiny do I see the true reason for my position - I left out the 444 leg and had therefore submitted a false time for the whole piece

I've asked in the CTC forum if it can be deleted, now I'll have to do it all again, with extra, which should put me well and truly in my place... on the dock drinking beer :D

Apologies to all.

Just do another and your next result will overwrite the original. It doesn't do any "this result is best" processing.

Fantastico! Not only another boat but also an unusually strong boat for FF. Keep them coming, Michelle.

CTC tonite
mine was @1:42.8 - details in the training thread
bit slow on the last one @1:45.7 but overall happy enough and won't need to do again!
This is a kind of a repeat of nov '14 with a different order. Managed @1:40.0 then probably done a little harder/more competitively so the inevitable slowing is documented but not too bad I guess!
terry was @1:51.1

Despite the “different order” (or disorder?) of this fallen ladder (and a cold start and unhurried 5k pace target in my case), I noticed a predictable symmetry in the association of rate with length of interval. Curious how this works out for other ctc participants?

Interval my stroke rate
1. 21
2. 24
3. 22
4. 20
5. 22
6. 29
7. 21

They could have done so much better with the ordering of the reps in that CTC

777m 111m 666m 222m 555m 333m 444m
would have been easier to row (get the big one out of the way first). The current order is all over the place.

Or the reverse of that - diverging:

444, 333, 555, 222, 666, 111, 777

Greetings all, hope everyone's well... I'm taking a break from the rower for a bit due to an annoying ankle/foot problem, a leftover from last October. Was ok-ish for the first 3 month this year, but gradually got worse and been annoyingly persistent since April. Concluded in May that rowing sessions would make it worse the following day. Assume it's the repetitive motion from max dorsiflexion to max plantar flexion (with force) that aggravates. My calf in the affected leg is extremely tight so have been rolling and massaging. Not sure if it's a peroneal tendinopathy thing...

Have lost a lot of cardio fitness (and some strength) - hardly anything done in June; just a bit of Skierg, cycling and gentle elliptical so far this month. Don't think I'll be doing CTC this month, not even on the Skierg.

sorry to hear about your ankle troubles Paul - best of luck

This just posted on the CTC competition thread - we get to chose the October one!
Just returned from the European Peace Walk so, at last, able to update the CTC tables. Congratulations to MAD for extending their form in May into June and winning their own challenge. Well done Sub7 for launching 16 boats.
Normally PaddyPower would have the challenge for October but, as no PP boats were launched during June, the nomination goes to Forum Flyers.

How exciting?

How about...Triple Whammy 2k, 5k, 6k - Total time, individual rows done anytime over the month?

You could do it as a 13k row, but you're not going to be faster

Just back rowing, absolutely floored by bloody shingles for the last month.......I disagree, this is something i'd give to my worst enemy

There is a 10km upper limit I think Chris so would have to be done in 2 or 3 separate sessions anyway. We have about 3 weeks to debate I guess
One of my staff has shingles at the moment - is very unpleasant indeed

BTW a very strong ctc from Dirk Moller - not bad for a 500m WR holder type of guy. Good to see he is still at it.

August Challenge? Lemme see.

“Lazee Hazee Krazee”
1. Goto fridge.
2. Pop the top on No. 6.
3. Trip over erg and bust shin.
4. Regard erg with acute disdain.
5. Return to sofa.
6. Nod off.
7. Wake bathed in sweat to discover someone has placed child’s pool float on your head.
8. Remove pool foat from head, take aspirin, and record (in your currency of choice) the cost of fixing the AC.

Oops, missed that FF have October not August challenge. How embarrassing! Need something for Halloweenies. Pumpkins, twick or tweet, candy apples, jack’o lanterns.
