[quote="just27"][quote="Kona2"]Nice Weather For Ducks, lyrics as repetitive as rowing....how perfect!

All the ducks are swimming in the water
Fal de ral de ral do

(I know, Darryl, these aren't ducks ... but there were ducks, really ... this was just the best shot from our raft ... AFTER the camera had been submerged!)

Well, the canadian geese Eh! team are sometimes between us and the ducks.

I looked up the duck song - strange video on you tube if you do a search.

WOW - that's awesome, you guys are too much! Hot pink and fluorescent yellow ... my very favorite colors in birthday cake frosting. And our names, too ... AND, look at those candle numbers ... tweeeeeeeeenty-seven! Barbara gets to cut the first slice ... I'm gotta go pour a glass of milk for everyone on the team. Real cake looks mighty tasty ... :D Did you do that all by yourself, Princess Anais? Great job, all in Yakima, and many thanks for the non-calorie treat.

What a sweet thing to do. How good does it feel to be loved like that? Happy birthday, gals!

And welcome back, Tom. I was just thinking about you two days ago, and wondering what you were up to. We really miss you here in the team room. The LUNA-TICS are just not the same without the body women love and men fear :D .

Way to go, AJ on the Mil.

And to all the new team mates, welcome aboard!

Happy Birthday Chris and Barbara!

AJ - Way to row! Congratulations on the that first million meters this season!

Chris - Blue sky, warm photo, looks like a great day on the river!

Chris and Jane - Ducks.... Geese I guess they're all waterfowl. The basic melody of the duck song kind of reminds me of French Canadian folk music, and some are great to sing while paddling (or rowing) . The French Voyageurs would sing to pass the time, set cadence, and break the monotony as they paddled their trade canoes for 12 or more hours a day. Here is a sample of what I think a good paddling (rowing) song should be.
http://www.uwgb.edu/wisfrench/media/index.htm
and select C'est l'aviron
Spirited, upbeat, great tempo. Now if I could only speak French.... but the chorus does interpret as "Its the rowing that brings us upsteam!"

Princess Anais and Jane - What a great cake!

Darryl - That's a quite lovely little song ... I might treat myself to their album for a present today, and see just how much French I remember.
Happy Birthday, Barbara. So far so good? Hope that you're doing everything that makes you happy.
Thx, all, for the good wishes.
Chris
