Ok Greg, what's up with this video? Looks like you're barely using your legs?

See what I mean about the long legs advantage though? Look at Dreissigacker, the guy's older than Greg (I think) but still faster. Pretty intense though - nice times!

Okay, now that I've slacked off watching youtube I better get back to work. But first I just wanted to happily report that this morning I KILLED my 6000m time. I went from 26:49 to 25:26. Apparently for a 6km you should be able to hold the avg/500 split at 10 higher than what you hold for a 2km. So I was aiming for 2:08s and managed to average 2:07s. :)

I guess that means I have to lower my 2000M time.

My workout on the erg today was painful... as in mentally. I was just slogging it. It seemed like each second took 5 seconds to pass. I spent 45 minutes cursing the machine, my coach and myself. BLAH!
Do you ever feel like that when you're working out? What do you do about it?
And one other question for those of you who do weights, what % of your body weight should you be able to do squats with?

Sounds like overreaching to me. Take a day or two off.

It really depends on the "training age" of the athlete and the repetition range used but I would say a good initial goal for female athletes is 75-80% of body weight.

Find it on google earth then post the coordinates - the new track, not your house.

Put these coords in the "fly to" box in google earth and it'll take you to the track I ride most of the time:

40°49'28.85"N,111°56'22.50"W
Nice! How is it to ride? How much does it cost you to ride the track?

My usual track (the one 90 min. away) is
49*11'54.87N, 124*05'42.71W
It looks like the image was taken on a race day, since there isn't usually that many vehicles. Plus you can see the weak attempt at watering.

My NEW track-to-be is at
48*28'32.63N, 123*29'55.50W
I can't really see anything yet. You can see the minibike track inside the oval but there's no full size track. Apparently they've started building it, so hopefully soon!

It's a state park, so we have the option of buying a state park pass for $70.00/year. I rode there (84) times last year, so it cost $0.83/day! I'll probably ride more this year so it only gets cheaper!

If you don't buy a pass, it's $10.00/day/bike.

Hey gang - it's great to see Team Moto still going strong! I'm jealous of you guys that are out there riding, we just got another foot of snow here in CO yesterday. 72 degrees Saturday, 12 degrees out and a foot of powder on Sunday!! :?

I've now been using the rower for 2 months and absolutely love what it's doing for me, I mean I'm not setting the world on fire as far as times go but man can I feel a difference! My mission this month is to do some longer distances and burn some fat. I just finally started messing around with the HR monitor and testing the drag settings. Not sure why I waited so long for that as it really did give me a lot better understanding of what's going on.

Anyway - thanks for the online motivation!

Take care and Ride Safe!!
