Whew. Hopefully that catches us all up on reindeer, reindeer meter milestones, and meters for everyone. Apologies if I left anyone out of the mix! Back in Denver now....and let me say that our reindeer need some training in flying with wind shear....hooboy...some landings are scary.

Is that what I'm seeing out the porthole on our space ship!??

Hah. I've been terrified twice, in a lifetime of flying, during landings ... both times at DEN!

Hello - I'm interested in joining the Luna-tics as a year-round affiliation and for the upcoming Virtual Team Challenge. I'm relatively new to the the world of rowing (started on 10/29/13) and would like the added motivation associated with joining a community. Are you taking new members?

BTW - I work at the Johnson Space Center and the name of the team just seems like a perfect fit.

Welcome aboard! I'll have to get us on the Virtual Challenge list. For affiliation designation, go into your logbook, hit profile, edit profile, and scroll down to affiliation. You can join us for Holiday Challenge - too - you have time to earn a reindeer I'll bet.

Happy rowing from Qatar!

Douglas (ROVER)

Douglas just joined the team - and had enough meters during the Holiday Challenge to claim his reindeer right away (convenient that it works out that way!). Here in Reindeer Central I was scrolling through the list of reindeer names...and definitely was thinking of using an explorer theme based on Douglas's last name of "Goforth." Da Do Ron Ron's posting of "Go forth and multiply.." reminded me of the Vulcan saying "live long and prosper"....so the reindeer name is Spock ! Definitely a galactic connection for our man at the Space Center.

Hold the presses! Just read Peter G's note below...and I agree...ROVER is an excellent name. We will save SPOCK for future reference.....thanks!

Hi Doug - Welcome aboard the star ship Lunatic! "Working toward 200k meter mark in the Holiday challenge!" Now that's the spirit... just the kind of Luna-tic we need!

Kona, I think I found a reindeer name for our new teammate once Doug crosses the finish line. It seems the Johnson Space Center it home to a small herd of deer and a Mini Rover. I would think Rover would make a good name for a reindeer don't you?

Scrambled

Post by Kona2 » December 17th, 2013, 2:09 pm

Some people read the cereal box. I was reading the back of the Pillsbury you bake em cookie box. The one with the sugar cookies with trees on them. I'm not much for word scrambles, but some of you are -- so here's a quick seasonal challenge on figuring out all the words.
