LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
I was planning to be able to continue pushing for more meters this week, but got slammed with a relapse of last month's bronchitis on Monday, and it is still going strong, so I decided to yield to wisdom rather than spirit today, and stay off the rower and in bed. [/quote]

TDY teammates are returning to base...
Whoop, whoop and hooyah! Congratulations to all our teammates who were in the Military Challenge! Here are their Challenge Meters:
Richard T....1,084,265
AJ ...500,000 m +
Danno ....400,000 +
Kristine ... 238,101
Eric...200,796
Mike M .... 62,034
TDY teammates are heading back to base. AJ is back on the Luna-Tic roster already - which may be according to plan. Returning to base before the last day to submit meters for the Challenge actually removes you from the Military Challenge...and it removes your meters from your affiliation's total (so Army shows less people on its team, and less meters with AJ's return to base). Just wanted to make sure that everyone knows that's how it works on this Challenge.

I saw that at one time a person could purchase Luna-Tics stuff on Cafe Press. Is that still an option? Thought it would be fun to get a shirt or mug or something.

I think they are still there, but I'll check.Kerry1976 wrote:I saw that at one time a person could purchase Luna-Tics stuff on Cafe Press. Is that still an option? Thought it would be fun to get a shirt or mug or something.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Hello, hello my fellow Luna-tics. I was going through burn out there for a bit, and then had other things take precedence (a friend in Hospice, then her passing, an interview for a new job, minor injuries, etc). So I've been really sporadic in rowing, and even more so with checking into the forum.
Good to see the Military Challenge rowers are back home. I considered signing onto the Air Force team, but that came too close on the heels of the last challenge and as I mentioned, burn out just got the best of me and I lost my motivation.
I start a new job on Monday, and will be forced to get my workouts in prior to 7 AM, so it's going to be a challenge, but I seem to do better with structure like that than when I have all day to get it in. Weird how that works. Anyway, I'll check in with the forum periodically. Just wanted to say "hi" to both old and new Luna-tics.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Congratulations on your new job, Jodi !! As for needing to finish your morning workout before 7:00 ... ugh, I've become a little spoiled on that front. Well, I guess it's the early bird that gets the erg.

Welcome, Bert !!

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 2.28.13
A stellar day in Luna-Tics Team history! Happy Lunar Landing Anniversary as we head back to the moon !!
Whoop, whoop! It's here! March Madness ... get your Irish on !!!
Everybody is a little bit Irish, although some of our teammates are a LOT of Irish. This Challenge could also be called The Tombstone, because we'll all be working hard to stay alive on the Honor Boards, and stay alive on the Honor Board we WANT to be on. The basic challenge is 5K a day, and will bring a whole new meaning to my request to give me 5. The advanced challenge is 10K a day, and there will be many of us who start out working on the advanced only to slide onto the 5K basic. You've got SIX days to spend on not having to row, and you'll want to spend them carefully and not rue the day later in the challenge. I know, small things like that can just take the fun out of it.
And....we've got the World Erg Challenge that starts up on March 15th. Another blaze of glory moment or two or three for the last of the three team challenges! This one is a great one to get yourself prepared for the Global Marathon Challenge if that happens to be on your 2014 Rowing Season bucket list. A lot of us will go for that just to make sure we still can. Take a look at the Concept2 training segment on preparing for the half or full marathon. The distances that we are rowing for the basic and advanced are PERFECT for getting ready for a half or full. Lots of repetition and no junk meters! Hooyah!
WEC team roster is now open! Go to the TEAMS heading in your logbook, scroll down - you should see a highlighted challenge area that asks if you want to join in on the Challenge. Of course, you do! I'll have another shot of caffeine here....
Fun, glory, many personal milestones ahead! Gather ye shamrocks....
Season meters as of 303/365 = 119,407,673 m
Total meters on the day = 229,481 m
Oars in space (participation) = 26 percent

Thanks for the heads up, Jan.
