Losing an entire posting with a mis-hit on the keyboard is one of the greater dismays....there is no autodraft for Concept2's forum pages......aaaaaaaugh.

This Saturday is the 30th El Tour de Tucson - a bike event that started with 198 riders. There may be as many as 9000 riders on Saturday. There are multiple distance routes to choose from and it promises to be a blue sky day with temperatures (F) ranging from 55 - 78. Perfect weather. The posters, like the ones from Cycle Oregon, are always fun depictions of the unusual ride through the land of cactus, and the colorful outfits of the riders and the countryside. The ride is unique in that in usually has two creek crossings, and sometimes there's even water in those creeks. Not good to get caught up in a line of riders at a creek crossing - you can lose 40 minutes while you carefully pick your way through the sand (usually carrying your bicycle since there are multiple tire puncturing stickers). The ride has several narrow areas that literally funnel the riders through a chute lined by the saguaro cactus on each side. There are often javelina (the wild pigs) seen in early morning or late afternoon of the ride. And you dont want to hear the coyotes start howling when you're on a lonely stretch of road....

Thank you.
Not by a long shot. I don't row the amount of Mm that some of our looney members do
I do, however, keep plugging/erging along.

The Leonids ... aka the Leonid Meteor Showers ...cosmic trash with trails... originating in the Leo constellation tonight and tomorrow. According to those who know, this is a low strength meteor year, and we could see about 15 to 20 per hour. Because we have just a crescent moon, you should be provided some pretty good dark sky viewing if you can get away from street lights. Bundle up, take a look for 20 minutes or so and see what you can see! It's all good ! (So WHERE do you look? Revising this thought to say that pre-dawn hours are going to be the best viewing - and that the meteors can fly any which way instead of just out of the constellation Leo. Good hunting and stay warm!)

DILIGENT DAN!
Da Do Ron Ron
Thanks very much. It's easy to be diligent on this team - so many long coattails to ride on. To be honest, I did ease back a bit on the meters... I'm a little afraid of Harold's cat.

Ok - enough. This is like watching an implosion. We are better than that. We are not lemmings. I am not going to spend the time just posting for myself. Good rowing to all.
