I missed that this started today:

SkiErg World Sprints
Race 1000 meters November 6–8, 2015, on the SkiErg, and post your time to the Concept2 Online Logbook to compete for prizes.

I'm not sure that I have the information to track this but I'll check the honor board to see if any TimbukTOOers partook.

Jeez Louise, Jim Conley! Can't a girl go to Hawaii for a little R&R? I return to see you've bumped me from third place! The challenge is ON!

Hi Bobbie, I am glad to hear you were away on vacation, because I was a little worried about you when I noticed your meters didn't move for a while. Now that you are rested up, I am sure you'll leave me in your wake soon enough! I have some time off scheduled later this year, and I am very much looking forward to it!

Vacations are good for the soul, Jim. I hope you're going some place fun.

I think I've previously mentioned my "rowing incentive plan" here on the forum. To spur my husband (and motivate myself) to row, we pick a vacation spot, figure out the distance, and then log our mileage. We've "rowed" to New Orleans, Jackson Wyo, and now to Hawaii. (And we only calculate one-way, not round trip hahahahaha :D ) Between the two of us rowing (plus his walking pedometer), it took us quite a while to come up with the 5,000 miles to Hawaii! We've been thinking of going to Iceland.....hmmmm, wonder how many km that is?!?!?!

And the answer is......4180 km from Newark Airport to Reykjavik. Decided (during my lunch time row) that for my 60th bday (13 months away tick tick tick tick), I will treat myself to a trip to Iceland! I'd better get rowing! (And get my hub to start contributing some km to this worthy cause!) :o

Hi.
I am tired this morning, I don't want to row and I check the Affiliation Standings page for this morning's post and I see that TimbukTOO is over 22MM.
That can't be right - I didn't think we were close yesterday

It looks Mike E has been saving up his meters (or had some free time yesterday? or made a typo?)
Team TimbukTOO has passed 22MM!

11 pulled us out of Monday yesterday
Mike E 503,456
Jim C 12,500
Ray W 10,081
Neil Q 10,000
Stephen M 10,000
Bobbie Z 9,645
George  M 9,000
Capn Izzy 7,275
Jack F 6,597
Glenn Yan 5,178
JD 4,683

588,415 team meters
22,035,250 total team meters this season

Mike E passed 150k - 600k

upcoming meter markers
Bobbie Z 35,687 m to 1,300,000
Capn Izzy 23,480 m to 400,000
George  M 34,652 m to 900,000
Glenn Yan 14,034 m to 75,000
Jack F 27,924 m to 700,000
JD 5,274 m to 600,000
Jim C 25,000 m to 1,300,000
Mike E 2,635 m to 650,000
Neil Q 10,000 m to 1,150,000
Ray W 5,920 m to 1,400,000
Stephen M 6,303 m to 600,000

Bobbie Z, what a great idea! I know you can make it to Iceland.
Hope you all are having nice weather wherever you are - it's raining here.

Ok, I'm ready to put in some time rowing this morning.
Thanks for the boost, everybody.

Bobbie, I have no doubt you will blow by me in short order! Between you and Heather, you ladies give "chasing after women" a whole new meaning for me.

I have made a conscious decision to NOT put on the Holiday 5 to 10 lbs this year. According to the PM3, I need to row 52,500 meters to burn one pound's worth of calories and that is a good baseline goal: burn one pound each week. So at a minimum I would like to row an average of 52,500 meters each week. And by that I mean getting all 52 weeks to average 52,500 meters.

I'm ramping up my rowing for the holiday season, too, Jim. (I generally have 12-15 holiday parties to attend at work. It's ho ho ho, eat drink eat drink, repeat.) But last rowing year, I did 3MM, so that's an average of about 57k a week--and guess what, I gained 15 lb over the course of that year. ACK!!!!!!!!!!!! My doc says that one result of working out so much is that it ramps up the appetite. I'm trying to incorporate more weight training. But I think I just need to sew my lips shut  On my handy dandy rowing excel spreadsheet/chart (yeah, I'm a little obsessive), I'm on track to hit 2.75MM by 4/30.
