Good onya Peter...Cheers, BBBkakattack wrote:Wow… thank you everyone of the congrats and well wishes! I just wanted all of you to know how much the support of this team has meant to me. And the tremendous health benefit I have achieved from rowing.
I know I’m not on the board very often but knowing I’m on the team and that my meters matter makes all the difference. Congrats to all of you who have achieved milestones, especially those crazy teammates that knock off marathons and 100K rows like its a walk in the park, you’re an inspiration to all of us.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Today, nov 2, marks the second anniversary of the death of our beloved Duluth Moose. Daryl was a frequent contributor to this teams meters and forum. You can still look up his posting if interested.
A few years ago when we ordered team shirts, they arrived larger than expected. Barb sent me hers and I sent Daryl mine. When I said something to him about wearing it rowing, he told me he did not wear shirts rowing as it would be too hot next to his wood stove. I was glad I didn't send him shorts. Anyway, thought of him tonight and wish he was still here.

Thanks for remembering and marking the anniversary. I'll add another couple of thousand meters in his memory, today. Also, I think I'm going to have a certain image of Moose, rowing by his wood stove, stuck in my head for a long time! Our journey is long ... our teammates always make it interesting !
Duluth Moose
Yes, Jane - thanks for the mention of the anniversary of Moose. Moose is a great example of how a virtual teammate can impact lives all over the world. He had great canoeing adventures, was a naturalist, held season tickets to the symphony, and gave great reviews of the different camping equipment (and camping recipes upon request) that he and his wife Ginny were trying out. He generated many, MANY bunny trails, including the great rutabaga peeling for the church luncheon. People who read our forum reported his death to their teams and many hour long memorial rows were completed -- again, by people who never met this guy. Interested in wood carving, he was known to make quite a few oars for auctioning and for gifts. I knew he rowed in his basement, and that he had to tether the end of the erg to some part of the foundation...great outdoorsman, great guy, great teammate. The best part was that he always told us about his adventures...or gave us just a bit of a hint that there was REALLY more to that story than he was going to tell up front.
Baz, and others, have shared some of their adventures as well - so we are not in full deficit here. You have to figure that people who are drawn to a team with the goal of rowing to the moon are looking for great adventure, and would certainly get onboard for a real moonshot if it was offered up. Never fear that your adventure is too mundane to share - there's always something in a story, especially when you have to triumph over something evil whether it be illness or injury, or conquer the mountain just for the feeling of being alive, something in that story that is going to give another teammate a boost when they need it. Rowing can be a solitary exercise, or it can be something that prepares you to do other grand things. And we're the kind of people who understand and appreciate that!
