TimbukTOO Team Room
Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I'm dealing with tendinitis. It's in my hands.it's a better diagnosis than the degenerative arthritis that I initially thought I had, but as far as rowing goes the only thing that's going to cure this is rest. So unless if I can modify my grip on the handle, i'll be doing a lot more of my exercise on the arc trainer and AMT machines.i'm experimenting with a grip that keeps my middle finger, index finger and thumb disengaged.

Best just to take the time and heal it, otherwise you're just going to suffer from it longer. Good luck!garygOP wrote:I'm dealing with tendinitis. Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I'm just too tired to row. Not gonna make any excuses!
Four or five snowstorms in the last three weeks, each dumping one to two feet of snow. For Boston, it's the snowiest February on record, and I'm an hour north from there. This is the first year in 22 years being in this house that I am actually worried about the weight of the snow on the roof.
If anyone wants some free snow, come and get it!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
You guys in the n.e. just can't catch a break. Don't blame you for cutting back on the rowing, a couple hours of shoveling a day will burn plenty of calories, can you get out to work or just stuck at home for awhile? hope you get a break from any more new snow.
Doug G
Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Fortunately I work from home most days, so I don't have to drive around in this snow, and I can keep the woodstove chugging along throughout the day. And get the generator going when we lose power.
Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Was a poor race report. Had to catch a plane and have been out of town since. Also, no major improvement this year, but still a PR. Always happy with a PR.damselfly wrote:Excellent!! Congratulations!!Quatroux wrote:Raced at the Dallas SWEAT today. Survived.
Crappy race report though.
2013 - 7:39.9
2014 - 7:33.4
2015 - 7:31.1
Not sure if this is some limit for being a #cardiacathlete or shows that I continue to be too conservative with my training. A PR is a PR so no complaints from me and no need for any deep soul searching.

Very impressive (as usual)! You continue to be an inspiration. I always enjoy the updates.Izzzmeister wrote:My computer is acting up, so I am posting from my Kindle... I had hoped for a 6:52 going into today's race, and I'd hoped Eric Wuerfel wouldn't show up... He didn't, but the fellow who came in 2nd in Boston last year in the 60-64 HW division, Michael Robinson, did!
I actually ended up breaking 6:50 for the first time in about 2 years, coming in 2nd by 2 seconds with a 6:49.4. With so limited speed work, I'm more than happy with that!

Andy, those are great times, and the fact that you are still improving as you age is fantastic. Keep up the great rowing!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Hi teammates, I have not been posting much or rowing as much of late. Still love the rower & the team and my goal is to still try to reach 1.5 million meters rowed this season. I do plan on doing the 'basic' Mud Season Madness challenge. I recently did an interval session where I rowed 10 circuits of 500 meters with 90 seconds rest in between and during each rest period I got up and did 15 Kettlebell swings. The total workout took around 30 minutes and I did 5K+ meters and 150 KB swings. I felt like it was an awesome workout! It may be my approach to the Mud Season madness challenge. If I can start 25 days in March like that I will be very happy!
