LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
I stole that from you and used it as a double-super secret coded message to you. Problem is I haven't figured out what the code or the message is. Guess I should have put 27 minutes in quotes.just27 wrote:... every 27 minutes, no less!Toothdoc wrote: ... as long as you have a bunch of Luna-tics continuing to add challenges every 27 minutes.

Secret Decoder Ring
While I am pretty sure that Chris's 27 is just one of those favorite numbers, I am attaching a secret decoder ring. Ovaltine issued these in 2000.

Re: Secret Decoder Ring
Thanks for the ring it will come in very handy. I will guard it closely so it doesn't fall into the wrong hands like the Enigma Machine did during WWII. If it did it could jeopardize our plans to catch N.F.R.C.Kona2 wrote:

Have you seen the numbers that those NFRC studs are posting? They're amazing (both the meters and the rowers). I haven't been around for the changing of the C2 year ... does everything start at zero?

It seems to be an almost universal bad habit, but having any kind of a drink (or food for that matter) while working on a computer is an accident waiting to happen. Why invite trouble??just27 wrote: You guys! I actually snorted coffee onto my keyboard. Aack.

Another celestral event coming...
Hey luna-tics. We have another not so common celestral event coming up next Friday, Feb 29; a leap year bonus day to row! Could this be an opportunity for a Sadie Hawkins Day challenge row?? Look out Tom P, here they come! Darryl B
Easter
Just in case you where wondering:
Easter is always the 1st Sunday after the 1st full moon after the Spring Equinox (which is March 20). This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify passover, which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar.
Based on the above, Easter can actually be one day earlier (March 22) but that is pretty rare.
Here's the interesting info. This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives! And only the most elderly of our population ; ;have ever seen it this early (95 years old or above!). And none of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier! Here's the facts:
1) The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 (220 years from now). The last time it was this early was 1913 (so if you're 95 or older, you are the only ones that were around for that!).
2) The next time it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in the year 2285 (277 years from now). The last time it was on March 22 was 1818. So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any earlier than this year!

Re: Secret Decoder Ring
Yeah, we are way out here in the boonies. Inyo County, with about 5,000 square miles logs in with about 18,000 people. Our metropolis is Bishop with about 4000 in the one square mile of incorporated town and another 3,000 or so in what might be called "greater" Bishop. That's the only incorporated town in the county. The county also includes Death Valley, the east slope of Mt. Whitney, and very, very few C2 indoor rowers. At this time of year, we probably get about 20,000 people passing through the valley each weekend on their way to snow slopes of Mammoth Mountain (Mono County).just27 wrote: (I figured you for Silicon Valley IT before seeing where Owens Valley's located.)
