I just found this on C2. I am including the entire text in case anyone is interested in any of it, and I changed the text size and color on the part that might apply to us. It sounds like this is what you might be talking about, Moose, although it seems like it is not set up to accommodate virtual teams like us. I will keep looking:
Ultra-Marathon Record Rules and Requirements
GUIDELINES
Team Categories for all events: We recognize records in the following categories for team size: 1-person, 2-person, small team (3-10 people), open (over 10 people). In each of these categories, the team may be men's, women's, or mixed (at least 1/3 men and the rest women, or at least 1/3 women and the rest men).
Individual Categories: We recognize records for individuals in 10-year age categories: 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, etc. in both heavy and lightweight categories for men and women. Heavy is over 165 lbs for men, over 135 lbs for women. Weight should be taken at beginning of the row.
Group Million Meter Row
Use a Concept2 Indoor Rower with Electronic Performance Monitor (PM2, PM3 or PM4). On a PM2 the monitor will count meters up to 99999, then start at 0 again, so be sure to keep track of the flips back to 0. You'll need 10 of them! On a PM3 or PM4, you'll need to set the monitor using Variable Intervals. Use Set Workout > New Workout > Variable Interval. This will enable you to set 10 distance intervals of 99,999 meters and 1 distance interval of 10 meters with rest intervals of 0:00. If using a PM3, it is recommended that you upgrade to a PM3 firmware version of 88 or above.
The rules are simple: the wheel cannot stop spinning ever until the million meters are reached.
Keep a record of who rows, when they row, and what the Performance Monitor reads (meters) when they start and end their stint on the ergo. Also be sure to record the total numbers of people who row in the record attempt.
Send us your results along with a photo of the team (if possible) and copies of any publicity which your record attempt received. Let us know how you do, even if it's not a new record!
New Records will be recognized with a special certificate of achievement and a Concept2 banner signed by the Concept2 staff. Records will also posted here on the web site.
Special High School 4-Erg Million Meter Team Row Protocol: All participants must be secondary school students and belong to the same school.
Equipment: 4 ergometers, PM2+ monitors with e-Row software if you have them
If your team is mixed, 2 ergs will be used by girls and 2 ergs used by boys at all times (grace given to moments of transition when for a few stokes more of one gender would be on than the other). There is no cap on the number of students participating. Use the C2 race software (e-Row) with PM2+ monitors and set the race distance to 250,000m on each erg. Ergs will need to continually switch genders in order to keep all four boats together and on the screen. Final time will be recorded when the last of the four ergs finishes.
Individual Million Meter Row
Use a Concept2 Indoor Rower with Electronic Performance Monitor (PM2, PM3 or PM4). On the PM2 the monitor will count meters up to 99999, then start at 0 again, so be sure to keep track of the flips back to 0.
Unlike the group Million Meter Row, it IS allowable, indeed necessary for the wheel to stop spinning a number of times before the million meters are reached. Obviously, your elapsed time must also include all the time that the wheel is not spinning – so you will need to figure out how best to balance your work time and rest time to optimize the rate at which you can accumulate meters.
Keep a record of your row, including the start time and finish time of each rowing session, and the meters rowed in each session. Please have the log signed by a witness who can verify your performance.
Send us your results along with a photo (if possible) and copies of any publicity which your record attempt received. Let us know how you do, even if it's not a new record!
New Records will be recognized with a special certificate of achievement, a Concept2 T-shirt and a pair of Concept2 Rowing Shorts. Records will also posted here on the web site.
24-Hour Row for Individual or Team
Use a Concept2 Indoor Rower with Electronic Performance Monitor (PM2, PM3 or PM4). The PM2 monitor will count meters up to 99,999, then start at 0 again, so be sure to keep track of the flips back to 0. The PM3 or PM4 monitor will count up to 50,000 before it flips back to 0.
Individuals are required to accumulate some number of meters within each hour of the 24 hours in order for the attempt to qualify as a 24 hour row.
Individuals are allowed to take several minutes of rest per hour. Obviously, if you rest too long, you have less time to accumulate meters; on the other hand, too little rest may result in premature exhaustion! You will need to determine the optimum amount of rest for yourself. Teams will not need (or want) to rest.
Keep a log of your row. Individuals should have their support crew keep a record of how long (time) and how far (meters) they row each hour, and of course cumulative meters rowed. Teams should keep a record of who rows, and how long and how far they row, and cumulative meters rowed. Also be sure to record the total numbers of people who row in the record attempt.
Send us your results along with a photo (if possible) and copies of any publicity which your record attempt received.
New Individual 24 Hour Row Records will be recognized with a special certificate of achievement, a Concept2 T-shirt and a pair of Concept2 Rowing Shorts. Team records will be recognized with a certificate and a Concept2 banner. Records will also be posted on our web site.
Longest Continuous Time Rowed (Team Only)
Use a Concept2 Indoor Rower with Electronic Performance Monitor (PM2, PM3 or PM4). The PM2 monitor will count meters up to 99999, then start at 0 again, so be sure to keep track of the flips back to 0. The PM3 or PM4 monitor will count up to 50,000 before it flips back to 0.
The rules are simple: the wheel cannot stop spinning until you decide to end your record attempt.

Individual Longest Continual Row
Use a Concept2 Indoor Rower with Electronic Performance Monitor (PM2, PM3 or PM4). The PM2 monitor will count meters up to 99999, then start at 0 again, so be sure to keep track of the flips back to 0. The PM3 or PM4 monitor will count up to 50,000 before it flips back to 0.
Unlike the group Longest Continuous Time Rowed for Teams, it IS allowable, indeed necessary for the wheel to stop spinning a number of times before the row is over. Individuals are allowed to take up to 10 minutes of rest per hour because we understand that it will be necessary to eat and visit the bathroom. In order to call this a “continuous” row, you must row at least 50 minutes out of each hour. Be aware that the monitor will automatically shut down after about 3-4 minutes of inactivity – so you will have to reset the monitor after rest breaks unless you have someone press the “Change Display” button to keep the PM alive.
Keep a log of your row. Individuals should have their support crew keep a record of how long (time) and how far (meters) they row each hour, and of course cumulative meters rowed.
Be sure to eat, drink and stretch as you progress through your attempt!
Send us your results along with a photo (if possible) and copies of any publicity which your record attempt received. We will need to know your age and weight class as well.
New Individual Continual Row Records will be recognized with a special certificate of achievement, a Concept2 T-shirt and a pair of Concept2 Rowing Shorts. Team records will be recognized with a certificate and a Concept2 banner. Records will also be posted on our web site.
Team 100,000 Meter Row
Use a single Concept2 Indoor Rower with Electronic Performance Monitor (PM2, PM3 or PM4). If using a PM2, set the monitor for 99,999 meters (that’s as high as it goes.) If using a PM3, use Set Workout > New Workout > Variable Interval. This will enable you to set a single Distance interval of 100,000 meters, with a rest interval of 0:00.
Keep a record of who rows, when they row, and what the Performance Monitor reads (meters) when they start and end their stint on the ergo. Also be sure to record the total numbers of people, with age and weight class, who row in the record attempt.
Send us your results along with a photo of the team (if possible) and copies of any publicity which your record attempt received. Let us know how you do, even if it's not a new record!

Sorry to cause confusion Kristine. Here is where the ranked 100K team row is listed. On the opening page of the online logbook, there are two buttons at top upper right. One is labeled MY LOG and the other RANKINGS. If you click on rankings, a selection box comes up. The first selection is labeled Distance. If you bring that up - you can select 100,000 meters (as a team). After you select it, and click continue, it will bring up the entries so far this year that qualify for this ranking. My thoughts were the only way to be listed in such a ranking is to enter the meters (in this case 100,000) and the exact time it took to row the distance, just like one of us was making a ranked row for 10K, 30 minutes, a half marathon or whatever. Only rather than use the real name of one of the Luna-Tics, to just dummy up a name (my suggestion "Team Luna-Tics" and do not affiliate this name with any team. That way the meters listed don't double dip for any real rowing event. The only other info I have is the email address to Concept to ask questions, which I did, but I have not received any response back.

Well, that is all I can find on the topic. Because LUNA-TICS is classified as a virtual team, my team captain page does not give me the option to log meters for any competitions unless they are open to virtual teams, so I think the best we can do is go ahead and log our meters and exact times in our personal log books and then also email those results to Kona2 via the PM link here as mentioned, and she can post the total time and who's meters participated in the total here in our Team Room. It probably won't count in the official C2 listing, however. No matter! It will still be fun to do, so let's go ahead and do it as planned!
Another unofficial team row we might try to do is to do a 24-hour team row. It would require someone to create a roster with time slots, and people to commit to row during specific time slots based on GMT, but we do have team mates around the globe, and team mates who row during the oddest of hours, so it just might be possible. Maybe it is something we should consider doing in conjunction with some other official row, like maybe the Blue Moon Row, since we will already be on the rower more than usual that day, and it might fit more people's schedules. Again, it would not qualify as a true 24-Hour Team row because we are not a physical location team, but it would still be fun. They do have a special 24-hour Virtual Team row, but it requires the use of RowPro, and the PM3 or PM4 monitor, and also a LOT of organization and coordination, and I think there are a lot of us who do not have those upgraded monitors.

Okay, I just followed your directions, and see what you are talking about. I think the only thing which might work would be for someone else on our team to create a new virtual team which we could use to have that team captain enter in meters on manually. However, there is the possibility that doing that will pull that person off our existing team, and they will be lost in space forever. I just can't remember if becoming a team captain automatically forces you to be on that team or not. I think it does as the first team member. Also, a team has to have at least one member who has an online log book, so it would not be possible to just enter in meters for the team as a whole without having the members listed, and you can only be on one team at a time, so there is no way you can log team meters to a team with no members listed.DuluthMoose wrote:Sorry to cause confusion Kristine. C2 is just going to have to figure out a way for us virtual teams to be able to do team rows. There has got to be a way, somehow. Maybe they could have a link that the team captain can use to enter the team for a particular team goal, and then the team members can log their meters in their log books, and the data would be captured and tallied by their system during the particular window of time for that event, and a team result could be recorded in the rankings listing.

P.S. + warm-up + cool-down so day's row will be a bit more than 10k.

How about Team 95K row...
The good news is that we had 11 participants, and seven of the 11 have a personal best with today's row! That's impressive!
The less good news is that we've only got 95,000 meters - sorry folks! Each of us did what we could, and it's still a good day!
Total time for the 95K = 7 hr 29 min 7.9 sec
