Thanks to all who rowed today - apologies if I've captured two days instead of the usual one (it happens!)
Did get me on two days, though I did row a HM yesterday. Ended up taking it easy this morning so I'm not burnt out going into March Madness
I also have a question, will we be setting up a team for the World Erg Challenge? Would very much enjoy getting in on this. Thanks!

Congrats to the team for our milestone, as well as to Ronnie, Minnie, Christa and Angelo for their milestones.
I've signed up for the Erg Challenge team. Not sure what I'm going to do for today's challenge (229 for today's date, or possibly 9991 so that adding the numbers makes 29, or 841 to be 29^2, or maybe 536,870,912 for 2^29... Well, not that last one I guess. Given that I am considering going for a 30 minute PB attempt tonight hitting anything perfectly meter wise will be tough anyway.
Since we'll have a house guest for the next 13 days starting tomorrow, I have no idea how many rows I'll be able to put in for March Madness. I really want to hit the 25 days of 5k (25 days of 10k is certainly not going to happen, I do know that), but have no idea when I'll find the time for that. I may have to just sit it out and go for it next year. But I'll be trying to put in rows when I can.
And for the Erg Challenge I'll be aiming for 200k.
Wim (attempting to get back into rowing shape).

Congrats everyone! And to Ronnie for your 4 million
Not sure what my goal is yet for the Erg Challenge, but I am excited about it... all signed up even though it's still a couple weeks away

Happy Leap Day! Lots of team members have already met the Leap Day Challenge of adding "" into their meter totals in some way....have that on my list for later today!
Today marks the end of the Military Challenge. Three of our teammates went into service during this time: two with the US Army (Chip and Jonathan) and one with the US Coast Guard Academy (BJ). We're hoping to see them back from their tour of duty with tomorrow's start of March Madness...and Madness it will be, too, as we entertain TWO challenges simultaneously starting on 15 March when the World Erg Challenge throws down its galactic gauntlet once again. We love galactic gauntlet throw downs! Following the wrap up of the WEC, we close out the 2012 rowing season just so we can half and full moon the rowing universe with the start of the 2013 rowing season..during the Global Marathon Challenge. Not that this team shows any need to have a special challenge for mooning!
60 full rowing days left in this season...still time to make that next milestone...or two or three!
Season meters as of 306/366 = 162,384,120 m
Total meters on the day = 441,670 m
Oars in space (participation) = 27 percent
MILESTONES...Bragging Rights...Celebrations:

2.25 MM Ross
1.9 MM Katerina
1.25 MM Dennis
1.1 MM Jeff P
650 K Mike C
265 K Kaylee
225 K Ashlee
And, while I am not sure whose meter upload carried us over the ONE million meter per teammate average, I do know that we all contributed to the totals!
Danno did upload a full marathon in that countdown timeframe, and I noted that Jay had some meters uploaded during the time also. Thanks to everyone!

It was 14194 m yesterday, and 2929 this morning.
I was supposed to have the day off from rowing as I am scheduled to donate blood today, but you 'forced'
me to get up early to get in a leap day row.
I first donated blood 32 years ago on the 29th of February, so I often try to donate on leap day.

It's been pretty quiet in here today, but just want to welcome everyone to March Madness
Have to admit this challenge holds a special place for me. It was the first challenge I had ever participated in (this will be my third year). Good luck everyone

Welcome March Madness! After a great Leap Day Challenge, we're ready to spring into March and the dual challenges it brings. The galactic gauntlets are flying the challenge flags already, and the competition during this challenge is certain to be absolutely spectacular. We can have some good fun with this entire month - all the while building a great fitness base for individuals to go after their first half or full marathon in May. We welcome new rowers to the team, and we welcome returning rowers also. Chip has returned from his service in the Military Challenge. Looks like you rowed about 400K during the month long Military Challenge, Chip - that's a great accomplishment!
