LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 2.23.12
There are so many milestones coming up in probably the next 24 hours - going to be virtual fireworks lighting up our Rowing Universe like crazy ! And a dilemma. You all KNOW how I like all those repeating numbers, and I thank those who help me get to "play" with the graphics when we get those 3333s or 11111s (today!) and 22222s. I have the opportunity today to land on m by rowing........... ...yet the siren call of ONE million meters is very strong. What to do what to do....
Meanwhile, we've topped the 160 MM meter mark as a team. With 163 team members, we could just hit a one million meter per person team average next week. Usually this does not happen until about the last week of the rowing year, but this is a special year - and a special team. Almost was afraid to mention it because I didnt want to jinx us. Still, it's such an amazing achievement for a team that I think we should anticipate it .. and naturally celebrate a lot.
Season meters as of 301/366 = 160,382,217 m

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Good weekend to all luna-tics, wherever you might be...
I’ve written a blog on my foray into multi-sport events, somewhat tongue-in-cheek, and fair to say the truth stretched to absolute breaking point...(Janet actually mows the lawn – but hey, makes a good story!)
My kayak coach and good friend, Matt Blundell, is urging me to go again next year, and must say it has some appeal and starting now will allow far greater preparation – but who knows, yet to decide. Matt competed in the 2 days team, and is a world class paddler, winning at International level – his team mate completed the mountain run in 2 hours 58 minutes – 33 kilometres and 800 metre climb! They led day 1 in the teams and were beaten to the finish by a mere 31 seconds, hard to believe so close over two days!

Great read Baz! Thank you for posting the blog. And don't worry, I make my wife mow the lawn too . (Well, sometimes).
Wim (attempting to get back into rowing shape).
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Wow, great recap, I felt like I was there! In fact, I had a beer right away. Granted, it was a Newcastle Brown, but it looked vaguely the same color as your motivator. (Shades of the Marmite v Vegemite issue!)BAZzy wrote: I’ve written a blog on my foray into multi-sport events, somewhat tongue-in-cheek, and fair to say the truth stretched to absolute breaking point ... I agree, an excellent read. I also felt like I was transported there... which with watching the snow fall outside the window would be much preferableBAZzy wrote:I’ve written a blog on my foray into multi-sport events, somewhat tongue-in-cheek, and fair to say the truth stretched to absolute breaking point...

No way! I love Newcastle Brown and the local liquor store sells it... Having got myself back into the swing of training I haven't had a beer since leaving New Zealand, but might make the exception today...if I happen to be walking past said liquor store!just27 wrote:Wow, great recap, I felt like I was there! And just a note on the mowing. If I so much as look at the lawn mower Janet would give me a quick clip, so to speak. She loves doing it and it forms part of her exercise regime. How's that for lucking out!

Meter Millionaire!
Woohoo and hooyah! K2 (that would be me) gave the erg chain a quick 111 pull to get the meter counter to tumble over the 1,000,000 m mark for the season. 462,266 m to go to 10 MM....I should get right to that!

Also a congrats out to Zander for the 3million meter season.
Makes me want to get back on the rower and log in more meters. Think it will have to wait until tomorrow though
